- In Yogasana, oxygen consumption is very less as compared to that in physical exercise. In Yogasana, the respiration rate falls and in physical exercise it increases. Usually, physical exercises are done quickly with a heavy breathing, so that the respiratory system is forced to work much harder.
- In Yoga, our body temperature drops slowly and in physical exercise it is always on the way to rise.
- In asanas of Yoga, the body metabolic rate drops and in physical exercise it increases tremendously.
- In Yoga, the muscles of our body receive minimum nutrition and /or oxygen but in physical exercise, our muscles receive the most nutrition/ or oxygen; so large muscles developed mostly by physical exercise.
- In Yoga, the blood pressure and heart rate of the body decrease, whereas in physical exercise it increases.
- Due to Yoga, we can easily discover the changes taking place inside the body that is related to the mind. These results in the increased concentration level where as in exercise, it is not possible to communicate with our mind.
