Today, yoga is practiced in several countries all over the world. Yoga tree pose is one such pose that provides all the health benefits.

 

Yoga tree pose is also known as ‘vrksasana’ and is one of the most popular and relaxing poses that yoga offers. It’s a standing pose wherein you need a lot of concentration and balance so that you can strengthen your legs. If you want to learn the art of balancing than this is the best pose that can teach you to do so.

When trying this pose, ensure that you’ve something steady near you to lean on it if required as you don’t want to fall down and hurt yourself. The main thing here is to avoid stress and nothing is more stressful that hurting yourself badly. Yoga is meant for relaxing and dedicating time towards your body that it needs for releasing stress. Given are some instructions that would be helpful to you in performing this pose.

Tips to Perform Yoga Tree Pose

Start with a basic standing pose. Ensure to keep your ankles together, straighten your back and spread the tops of your feet from each other. For widening your hips, turn need to turn your quadriceps and breathe in afterwards for your stomach to remain firm. After doing all this you’re ready to start the yoga tree pose.

Stand in such a way that your weight is divided evenly across your feet. Next, by putting all of your weight on your right foot, slowly balance on it. Then lift your left leg and bend it at the knee. Place the bottom of your left foot on your right thigh and not on the knee. With your left leg lean on to your right leg and use it to help you balance. Ensure that you maintain a straight hip position throughout.

Finally, breathe in and lift your arms up to the sky and put your hands together in a prayer position over your head. After finishing this, breathe out and slowly lower your hands, maintaining the position of the prayer until they’re directly in front of your chest. Try holding this pose for a minute or so. Once you finish with this, repeat the process for your other leg.
