Yoga Poses

Yoga brings about a union between the mind, body and the soul. When yoga is practiced in the most suitable and appropriate manner one can control ones mind and thinking pattern. Yoga poses should be learned and practiced under the guidance of a reputed yoga teacher.

Some of the yoga poses are listed below-

Eagle yoga pose:

The yoga practitioner should stand with feet flat on the floor. Arms should be wrapped around each other so that the fingers of the right hand are able to touch the palm of the left hand. Later you should try and wrap the right leg around the left leg, while tucking the toes around the ankle. Switch and repeat with the other leg.

Cat yoga pose:

Get on the floor like a cat, touching the floor with hands and the feet. Later arch your back upwards.

Forward bend yoga pose:

This yoga pose aims at stretching your back and the hamstrings. It aids at releasing tension in the neck, shoulders, back and helps in increasing flexibility in the spine area. Forward bends bring about calmness and helps in the treatment of physical injuries.

Back bend yoga pose:

Back bends help in the opening up of the ribcage, chest and hip areas in the body. This yoga pose strengthens the muscles which are situated in the shoulders and the arms. This pose aims at increasing the flexibility around the shoulders. Tension is relieved in the front part of the body and the hips. Balance and stability in the body is enhanced with this pose.

Hatha yoga poses:

Hatha yoga works along with effective breath control and meditation. This yoga pose brings about excellent mental and physical health. It provides vitality to the entire body system. Hatha yoga poses comprise of salutations postures, half moon postures and shooting bow postures.

Standing yoga poses:

 Standing yoga poses are beneficial to prepare the body for other yogic postures. This yoga pose is like a warm up exercise for the body. Standing yoga poses are favourable for strengthening the legs, improving balance and opening the hips.

Inversion yoga poses:

Inversions work to enhance blood circulation all over the body, calm the mind and enhance overall health. The gravity of the body is known to get reduced with the help of inversions. It makes the practitioner look much younger, with reversing the ageing process.

Twists:

Twists aid in the strengthening of the back muscles and the abdominal muscles. Twists also improve blood circulation and flexibility in the spine. This yoga pose works to improve the functioning of the internal organs. It also provides fresh blood and oxygen throughout the body.

Restorative and relaxation yoga poses:

At the end of every yoga session it is vital to relax the body with the help of relaxation and restorative yoga poses. With restorative and relaxation yoga poses you can calm and relax your mind and your body.

It would be most beneficial to learn and practice yoga poses under the guidance of a yoga teacher. With yoga you can free yourself from stress and tension.
