Yoga is an art of righteous living. It is natural integrated system created for the benefit of the entire body which directly relaxes our mind and inner spirit. It was originated in India many thousands of years ago and is being practiced till today. The references to yoga are available in 'Upanishads' and 'Puranas' that were composed by Indian Aryans in the later Vedic and post- Vedic period.

The main credit for systematizing yoga goes to Patanjali who wrote 'Yoga Sutra' around two thousand years ago. 'Yoga Sutra' is the most important basic text on Yoga. The principles of the full eight fold yogic discipline were described by Patanjali in this book. The 'Sutras' or the treatise in brief code words were also composed by him.
