Yeast infection is a natural overgrowth of Candidiasis on the surface of the body which is triggered with the leverage supplied to the hygiene routine and daily body health care program. The infection is the direct output of the dampness and moisture retained in the tight areas of the body which are not often exposed to light and air. Yeast infection prevention is part of a set of precautions which should be incorporated in everyday lifestyle to save the body from the harmful effects of Candida infection. Yeast infection prevention includes a basic set of precautionary measures which are homely and easy to follow:

  • Sharing of towels: Yeast infections are contagious in nature. Sharing of wet and damp cottons like towels and washcloths can facilitate the growth of such infection. The dampness of the cloth stimulates the transference of this inflammation from one body to another body.
  • Hot water wash: Under garments should always be washed in hot water as it kills the bacteria and infectious growth of yeast infection. Fabric softener should not be used in machine dryer. This chemical fosters the growth of yeast.
  • Tight clothes: Avoid wearing tight clothes in moist and wet season. Perspiration and sweat are two primary grounds for the birth of Candida. Tight clothes in the crotch can be avoided as the chances of yeast formation increases in such type of clothing.
  • Changing exercise clothes: The perspiration and sugary sweat oozed out of body is the perfect base for the development of Candida infection on the surface of vagina, breast and underarms. Therefore, exercise and swimming costumes should be changed immediately after the usage. Such attires should be cleanly and regularly washed.
  • Sanitary pads and diapers: In the case of children, diapers should be constantly changed as they create rashes and fosters the growth of yeast infection in infants. While in the case of ladies, sanitary napkins should not be scented and unclean. Quality of napkin should be checked before the usage, cheap sanitary napkins should be avoided.
  • No scented soups, perfumes and talc: All the scented toiletries contain some amount of sugar which easily nurtures the growth of yeast in damp and wet area. Soups, deodorants and perfumes possessing high intensity aroma should be avoided.
  • Avoid taking antibiotics: The consumption of antibiotics kills the naturally found bacteria in body which controls the growth of yeast infection on the surface of the body.
  • Diet: To prevent yeast infection diet containing toxins should be avoided. Dietician should be consulted for the complete diet program having right amount of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and calcium. 7 to 8 glasses of water should be consumed daily to avoid the development of yeast in the body.
  • Condoms: Safe sex is recommended for the safe health of the partners.

Yeast infections can be naturally treated with the aid of ginger, yoghurt, homeopathic medicines and sprays. However, a doctor should be consulted immediately if the infection has caused severe pain afflicting rashes and marks on the body.
