Pelvic pain may be chronic, and any pain in needs through investigation. You should check for the causes of pelvic pain. Chronic pelvic pain
Chronic pelvic pain affects both men and women. The pelvic pain must be there for 3 months or more to be called as chronic. It may represent abnormal neurological function or peripheral nervous system.

Many women experience chronic pelvic pain and there is no specific medical symptom for it. It may be due to:

Causes of pelvic pain

When Pelvic pain is caused due to irritable bowel syndrome, there is constipation, diarrhea or both
Bloating
Pain and frequent Urination
Chronic pain and spasms of muscles near pelvis
Tenderness and tightness in muscles of pelvic region
Endometriosis i.e. lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus
Treatment for Pelvic pain
1. There are several different types of treatments available for Pelvic pain. It is different for individual problem. Your doctor will decide which the best treatment for pelvic pain.
2. Birth control pills (oral contraceptive tablets)
3. Hormone therapy to slow the growth of endometriosis
4. Pain killers for pain relief
5. Surgery to diagnosis endometriosis and other abnormalities in the pelvic region
