If you are thinking of becoming a stay at home mom or are already one, this is for you. This may be a thankless job but the most rewarding one as it is a very rich experience. Your children need you and the time you spend with them is an opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment.
Fitness for stay at home moms is very important. There are many fitness centers, health clubs that have various exercise programmes for stay at home moms. Make a routine for a workout and stick to it. You may split your chores as:

- Drink a lot of fluids to remain hydrated. Avoid drinking alcohol and a lot of coffee
- Eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, sprouts and whole grains in your diet
- Include dairy products like milk, cheese, etc in your diet but make sure you eat the fat free versions

- You should have an active lifestyle that helps you to remain healthy and feel better. A thoughtful exercise progamme is good for both mom and child.
- When you choose the type of exercise you should consider your shape and weight before getting pregnant.
- You should start out slowly and take care not to overexert yourself
- You should think before engaging in activities where there is a risk of falling. Anything that may result in impact on abdomen should be avoided as your body is slowly coming back to normal.
- Avoid any exercise to the point of exhaustion or breathlessness
- Do not exercise in hot weather
- Play with your kid as it is a great way of exercise. You can go to a field or a garden and play soccer or football with your kids
- You can go to a community track or a public school with a track. Check it if it is enclosed with a fence for your Childs safety. You can tell your children to play on their own or run on the track while you jog or walk.
- Yoga will help you to have steady movements so join a yoga class. The unique music and animal postures will also attract your kids.
- You can get some aerobic video tapes and start the workout. Your child can join you in exercise while playing
- You can join aerobics as it is effective, fun and convenient
- You can bring home some fitness equipment and have your own exercise routines
