As a parent, when we are administrating growth of new born, there are few things to keep in mind. For proper growth of new born, it is very necessary to take a good care of them. Let us focus on the tips for administering growth of new born.

Wean your Baby

  • It's important to start to wean the baby at the right time. If is started too early, when the baby’s digestive system is not fully developed, it is of no use. For the development of the baby, it is very important that he/she is able to absorb the nutrients from food.

  • If it is started too late, then the baby will miss out essential vitamins and nutrients that he/she needs in order for proper development.
  • Experts recommend weaning new born at around 8 – 12 months

Avoid Milk Allergies

  • Sometimes new born babies can develop skin allergies to milk, which can be avoided. Give the new born plenty of water and juices to flush out any allergies.

Autumn New Born Care

  • During the autumn months, the weather is dry and cool and hence, the skin of new born babies becomes dry too. So experts recommend using baby moisturizing lotion having natural ingredients which also helps to develop new born’s skin properly.

Interacting with New born

  • New borns may begin to take interest in what their parents are taking at the age of 2 months.
  • This is the perfect time to start saying simple words in repeated manner. This will help in new born baby’s mental development.
  • One may find new born babies like making sounds
  • Continue to teach him/her more words for proper mental development

Refluxes by the New Born

Although a newborn spends nearly 16 hours in sleeping, much of a newborn’s movements and activities are reflexes which are a part of their growth. Reflexes in newborns are as follows:

  • Root reflex: This begins when the corner of the baby's mouth helps the new born to find the breast or bottle.
  • Suck reflex: When the roof of the baby's mouth touched to milk source, the suck reflux activates. This reflex begins after 32nd week of pregnancy, but is not fully developed. So premature babies sometimes have this problem.
  • Moro reflex: The Moro reflex or startle reflex usually occurs when a baby become anxious by a loud sound or movement. In response to this, the baby throws back his/her head, and extends arms and legs, followed by crying. This reflex lasts about five to six months.
  • Tonic neck reflex: This is called the "fencing" position which lasts for six to seven months
  • Grasp reflex: It is known as stroking the palm of a baby's hand, causing the baby to close fingers in a grasp.

Newborn babies not only have these unique reflexes as their part of development, but also have a number of physical and behavior individuality that can be analyzed while administering growth of new born.
