Hypothyroidism results from the under-activity of the thyroid gland. The most common symptoms of this problem are constipation, tiredness, feeling cold and dry skin. This disease can affect anyone but is found common mostly in women. If you think you are suffering from any kind thyroid dysfunction, have been experiencing lots of stress since many years, are at the menopausal age; or are undergoing some hormonal imbalances then it’s important for you to support your thyroid before you have to bear the consequences of this disease. One of the best ways to support thyroid functions is your healthy diet. Intake of certain food products reduces the ill effects of hypothyroidism because they can help in the production of some thyroid hormones. It includes:

  • Cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, mustard, rutabagas, kohlrabi, and turnips. Isothiocyanates are the category of substances in cruciferous vegetables that have been associated with decreased thyroid function. They help in reducing the thyroid functions by blocking thyroid peroxidase. It also disrupts messages that are sent across the membranes of thyroid cells.
  • Iodine is needed to build thyroid hormones. Iodized salt is beneficial but should be used in small amounts once or twice a week along with a good quality Celtic sea salt. Ideal food sources include seaweed, salt water fish, Celtic sea salt and sea food. Iodine supplements that can help a lot are usually available in the form of kelp tablets.
  • Isoflavones are found in soy products. They are hormone-like substances. Consumption of soy products can help in suppressing thyroid function in some people. In particular, an isoflavone called genistein, appears to reduce thyroid hormone output by blocking the activity of an enzyme called thyroid peroxidase.
  • Selenium-rich foods like meat, chicken, salmon, tuna, seafood, whole unrefined grains, brazil nuts, brewer’s yeast, broccoli, dairy products, garlic, onions and black strap molasses should be taken for reducing hormonal dysfunctions.
  • Tyrosine-rich foods. The amino acid tyrosine combines with iodine to make the hormone thyroxine. These foods include meat, fish, turkey and chicken breast, low fat milk and yogurt, almonds, avocado, bananas, lima beans, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, lentils. Supplements of tyrosine should be taken on an empty stomach so that it doesn’t have to compete with other amino acids.
  • Enzymes are needed to correct every chemical reaction that takes place in the body. The metabolic enzymes are required to help our organs, tissues and cells in performing their functions properly. They build our body from proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Organic fruits and vegetable are the best source of enzymes.

Thyromine is very much advised along with these diet tips as this product does not has any side-effects and is a 100% natural supplement that can cure safely and effectively. Look here for some more benefits of thyromine.
