What is smoking?
Smoking is an act of tobacco intake in the form of inhalation and exhalation of poisonous chemicals found in tobacco, interfering with normal breathing, evolving a new biological cycle of Tar, Nicotine and Carbon mono oxide in the body replacing the supply of oxygen with these harmful gases and substances, depleting the immunity film of the victim.
Composition of tobacco with respect to nicotine in current cigarettes: According to James Pankow of Oregon Health and Science University, the current cigarette manufactures have substituted the word nicotine content with “free base” nicotine to sell their product on a false understanding and terminology. He found out that Marlboro contains 10-20% of free base nicotine more than other brands.
- The “Natural American Spirit’ which is marketed as a “100% chemical addictive free tobacco” contains 36% free base nicotine in comparison with 9.6% of Marlboro, 6.2% of Winston and 2.7% of Camel.
- The nicotine percent in tobacco weight is: Tobacco- 10.2mg (SEM 0.33, range: 9 to 17.5%); Nicotine is 1.5 %( SEM0.03, range 1.2to2) – United States.
- In United Kingdom: Tobacco content is 12.5mg (SEM0.33, range: 9to17.5); Nicotine is 1.7 %( SEM 0.04, range: 1.3to 2.4).

Diseases caused by smoking:
- Respiratory trouble: Nicotine and tar present in tobacco stick to the outer layer of Cilia in Trachea causing irritation, formation of mucus and asthma.
- Cancer of lungs: Tar and nicotine gets deposited in the pores of Alveoli ( air sacks) found in lungs, which perform the function of depositing pure oxygen to the blood, which results in stimulation of carcinogens in the body causing lung cancer.
- Carbonmonooxide present in tobacco mixes with blood to curtail the supply of oxygen in the blood required for healthy breathing and life of cells: the building blocks of our body.
- Heart Attack: Smoking is the major cause of heart attack among people worldwide. The harmful chemicals found in tobacco are responsible for narrowing of arteries which result in the blockage of blood supply to the heart resulting in heart attack and stroke.
