Smoking: can take your life away from you.
Smoking harms you in the similar manner as any other disease eats your immune system; the difference being in the approach of the inducer. It is a silent killer and a precursor of other life taking diseases. Irrespective of the mental and physical tortures associated with it, it is still regarded as a fashion among more that half of the population.
You know it is harmful but still you are a smoker.
Intake of tobacco in the form of inhalation is a practice common to either gender and members of any age group. It can be considered as a social taboo, a relaxing exercise or a ritual. No matter in whichever form it is taken, it is an addiction: a second lover to you. It not only harms you it is a stress developer of your family too. Smoking has its two substitutes;
- Active: The hazards with this type of practice are in direct form. As smoking is an inhaling exercise it is directly connected with lungs and respiratory diseases
- Passive: a passive smoker is one who is actually not inhaling it in direct form but inhaling the residues of harmful gases in an indirect form. They can be your family or your friends depending on the span of time you spend with you. A study proves that passive smoking is more dangerous as compared to active smoking as their body is not addicted to the effects of these gases.
Harmful effects of smoking: smoking has physical as well as emotional aspects attached to it. Below is the list of diseases caused by tobacco inhalation:
- Emphysema: the chemicals of tobacco destroy the lungs, as lungs develop holes that blow up like balloons. It affects breathing. People suffering from this disease breathe and wheeze faster.
- Cancer: carcinogens present in tobacco are the cause of lung, mouth and esophagus cancer. About 60% of smokers die because of lung cancer annually.
- Bronchitis: due to excessive smoking the passage to lungs is blocked. The fine hair present in the passage stop functioning which causes smoker’s coughing.
- Heart diseases: smoking increases the chances of a heart attack; nicotine narrows the width of arteries and is responsible for the accumulation of fat in arteries which carry pure blood across the body.
- Pregnancy: study suggests that inhalation of nicotine during pregnancy decreases the metabolic rate of the fetus; it may even obstruct the oxygen supply.
Smoking is not only harmful to the body, it has emotional effects too. People addicted to nicotine are more prone to anger and anxiety. Their fluctuating temperament may affect their marital and family life. However, with the development in science and medicine, numerous solutions are available in the market ranging from psychiatrist aid programmes to orally consumed medicines.Out of the numerous methods available it is suggested that the use of a spray is one of the best method to reduce your cravings as it is easy to use and comes under the budget of most of the sufferers.
