There are some viruses present in the environment which can affect the skin. These viral infections of skin are very specific and there are specific treatments to cure it. The viruses that can affect the skin are listed as below:

Roseola Viral infection
- Roseola is known as a common viral infection. It occurs mostly in infants and children.

Rubella Viral Infection

- This is a type of viral skin infection which is also known as slapped cheeks disease.

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease
- This viral skin infection is highly contagious and identified as the lesions development on palms, soles, and also mouth.
Kaposi's Sarcoma
· It is basically a malignancy caused by a virus. It commonly occurs in association with HIV infection and this should be sought if the diagnosis is made. Kaposi's sarcoma viral skin infection with HIV is known to be very aggressive.
Crosti-Gianotti Syndrome
- This syndrome is known for the response of the skin to viral infection. It can be identified as a popular rash which can last for more than a few weeks.
- This can be caused due to viruses like Hepatitis B, Epstein Barr virus, Coxsackie viruses, etc.
- The spots of these syndromes are 5-10 mm in diameter and deep red in color. It can also lead to formation of fluid-filled blisters.
Treatment on Viral infection of Skin
Treatment for skin infections is extremely specific and these include the following solutions:
· Administration of anti-fungal, antibiotic, anti-viral, and anti parasitic medicines
· Oral or intravenous administration of medications
· Strengthening the immune system by taking extra vitamins, minerals and other supplements.
· Increasing intake of water
· Proper hygiene of the skin and to prevent development of pathogens or the disease localized.
· Immediate washing and treatment to the wounds
