Eczema is not caused due to any specific reason, but it’s known to be an allergic disease and could also be named as atopic eczema. It’s related to hay fever and asthma. If anyone in the family is suffering from this disease, then it could also spread to others.

Knowing the causes of eczema is not much different from the thought you would get if the plant you are having is not flourishing. The first thing that would cross your mind would be, whether you didn’t give the plant something it required to prosper and then wonder if the plant might be exposed to something unusual. Human beings are more multifaceted than plants because we need a large variety of nutrients and are prone to greater variety of germs and toxins.

However, the most vital difference between human beings and the plants is that there is a greater variety among them than among the plants. Even though every human being is unique biochemically, you could still use some help towards understanding the causes of eczema.

Causes of Eczema

  • Something Out of Balance: Too many or too few hormones are produced by the body. In this case, low thyroid function could be a significant cause of eczema. Circulation is reduced when the thyroid function is low. In fact, the skin might receive as little as one-fourth to one-fifth of the normal blood supply in advanced cases of hypothyroidism. As circulation is reduced, the nourishment is reduced which is supplied by blood and at the same time, the waste products aren’t removed entirely and quickly, since the blood is the main remover. This all results in an unhealthier skin and the development of swelling, blistering, itching, oozing and scaling of the skin.
  • Digestion: The rest of the body including the skin could not be healthy if the gut isn’t as stomach uses the nutrients as fuel for running the body. James Barker, N.D summarized one of the causes of eczema by giving the significance of protecting the gastrointestinal tract. If the skin and eyes are the portals through which you could view the internal health of the body, then gut is the entrance through which majority of the diseases enter into the body. It implies that gastrointestinal lining must be treated first for a patient suffering from eczema.
  • Infection: The immune system might become irritable and excessively reactive to environmental factors if it has to fight bacteria, germs, yeast, etc. The immune system becoming hyper responsive and over reactive to normal stimuli is one of the causes of eczema. Infections from the growth of Candida albicans are frequent among the patients of eczema. It’s a kind of yeast like fungus which could lead to weakening of the immune system and infection called candidacies.
  • Invasive Life Events: The intestine could be immensely affected by a stressful life which an individual leads. This results into eczema.

There are several causes of eczema and there is no quick solution to it. You must address the causes to reverse this disease.
