This simply means that you must take care of yourself to have a healthy and beautiful body and a healthy skin takes one of the top slots for everyone who wishes to look beautiful. A healthy skin is one that is neither too oily, nor too dry, and has a flawless texture. There are very few people who are born with a healthy, flawless skin and do not have to indulge in an elaborate skin care regimen to keep it that way. For most of us, taking care of our skin is an inseparable part of our daily routine, so here are some tips for basic skin care.
Basic Skin Care Advice
A good skin care regimen includes four basic steps, Cleansing, Exfoliation, Toning and Moisturizing. Given below are steps on how to do it:
Cleansing: It is the first step towards a healthy skin and is very critical. It helps to remove the dust and grime that choke the pores of the skin. For normal skin, cleansing could be done 2-3 times a day but an oily skin requires it 4-5 times a day. Choose a cleanser depending on the type of your skin. Wash face using a gentle cleanser, moving your fingers in circular motions. You can also use a cotton wool dipped in fresh milk, which is a cheap and a very effective option.
Exfoliation: This is the process of removing those dead cells from the skin which make your face look dull. These dead cells block the pores of the skin and cause acne. Skin exfoliation is important for all types of skin; however, you must take special care if you have a dry or sensitive skin. Following tips should be kept in mind while exfoliating:
- The scrub should be strong but not harsh and damaging
- A scrub with granules removes dead skin cells from the surface
- You can add 2 teaspoons of natural sea salt to make the scrub therapeutic
- For a sensitive skin, use a natural sponge
Toning: This helps in removing any residual makeup or dirt that might have been left. A toner also restores the natural pH level of the skin, leaving it clean, clear and more responsive to hydration. It closes the pores of the skin, preventing it from getting exposed to harmful toxins in the air.
Moisturizing: A well moisturized skin is smooth, supple and has a healthy glow to it. Apply the moisturizer on your face right after you have washed it and while it is still damp. This locks the moisture and makes your skin silky and soft. Apply the moisturizer evenly and do not forget areas such as elbows and heels.
These are the steps that must be followed regularly to have a healthy skin. These are very basic and simple steps and do not require too much of time or money. If you follow these basic skin care steps, you will have a beautiful skin all your life.
