Acne-

  1. Acne spoils the entire appearance of an individual. Acne leads to low self confidence and self esteem. Acne sufferers get obsessed with their appearance and ways to treat acne breakouts.
  2. Acne when not treated in time can lead to psychological conditions and makes one feel insecure about their appearance. Acne is the result of excessive secretions of oil from glands which are present under the skin. Acne apart from the face affects the back, upper arms and chest.
  3. Acne is a skin problem, which needs to be treated internally as well as externally. Appropriate acne skin care, would help in reducing the breakouts of acne on the skin. It would be best to use natural methods for treating acne related issues. Acne is linked to various factors such as diet, genetics, stress, heredity, and vitamin deficiencies.

Some useful acne skin care tips are-

  1. Be gentle with your skin: Avoid scrubbing your face in a harsh manner, in a want to remove clogged pores. Use lukewarm water for washing your face instead of hot water. Use mild cleansers instead of soaps, soaps contain chemicals that damage the skin. Gentle cleansing would help in removing excess dirt, pollutants and oil. Harsh scrubbing and strong soaps irritate the skin and contribute towards pimples. You should be gentle with your skin at all times.
  2. Don’t prick pimples: Avoid continuously touching your face with your hands. Do not squeeze, rub and prick pimples, as this could lead to more acne breakouts.
  3. Use mild astringents: Astringents should be used for only oily skin types. Astringents for dry skin types would worsen the skin condition and would also cause further irritation.
  4. Use water based cosmetics: Some cosmetics which are oil based or comedogenic cosmetics can lead to acne breakouts or pimples. Oil based cosmetics worsen the skin condition; since oil based cosmetics contain fatty acids which cause harm to acne prone individuals. You should use water based cosmetics which are skin friendly and do not clog pores.
  5. Avoid the sun: You should reduce sun exposure as much as possible; UV rays dry the skin layer, which peels the skin. Sun exposure causes premature aging and sunburn. Excessive sun exposure can also lead to skin cancer.
  6. Change your meal content: Eat more nutritious and healthy food items. Eat substances which are rich in anti-oxidants, such as oranges. Fruits and vegetables help in slowing down the cell regeneration process.
  7. Drink water: The amount of water that you drink has a direct affect on the skin. You should at least drink 14 glasses of water, to flush out the toxins. Reduce the intake of aerated drinks.
  8. Follow skin care regime: One must follow a proper skin care routine which prevents acne breakouts and clears the skin.

Acne is a skin condition that is extremely unpredictable and troublesome. One should take care of ones skin as acne occurs. Acne when not treated in time can worsen the skin condition. It would be most suitable to consult a dermatologist before applying any acne treatment products on the face.
