What is Peyronie's Disease?
Peyronie's Disease is a condition in which there is a plaque or hard lump on the penis. The plaque is seen on the upper or lower side of the penis in layers in the erectile tissues. It is in the form of localized inflammation and then develops into a hardened scar.
Peyronie's Disease is a disorder in the connective tissue of the penis. There is growth of fibrous plaques in the soft tissues of the penis. Fibrosing process is seen in tunica albugiena, a fibrous envelope that surrounds the penile corpora cavernosa. This causes abnormally curved penis as the plaque pulls the rest of the penis to its side. This indentation in the penis during errection is called as wasting.

Causes of Peyronie's Disease
The exact cause of Peyronie's Disease is not known. The formation of plaque is the beginning and it is not a tumor. It is not contagious and is not cause by any transmittable disease.

7. Counseling is done as there are physiological effects of this disease like withdrawal and depression
8. Enzyme therapy that causes the fibrin to dissolve
