Hypothyroidism occurs due to the imbalanced functioning of the thyroid gland which secretes thyroid hormones (T3 and T4). Both these hormones help in regulating the metabolism and energy levels of the body. T3 is an essential hormone present almost in an equal quantity with T4. The conversion of T4 inside produces most of the quantity of T3 and a very less amount is generated by the thyroid gland.

If a person is detected with a low level of T3 (tertroxin) and T4 (thyroixine) hormones in his blood test that directly suggests that he/she are suffering from hypothyroidism.

As a treatment for this disorder most doctors prescribe only synthetic T4 medication like Synthroid, Levoxyl, Levothroid, Eltroxin, Unithroid, and others but they are not effective in all the cases. T4 or Thyroxine is mostly suggested for treating hypothyroidism but this is possible in some cases only as many patients require a combination of both T3 and T4 supplement for healing major symptoms of the disease.

Hypothyroidism in many cases starts getting better as soon as the levels of free T3 and T4 hormones rise above the normal level inside the body. But this might not be helpful in treating all the patients. Laboratory testing is then suggested for detecting the deficiency hormones so that the treatment should be giving according to the requirement of the body. After clear diagnoses either a hormone replacement therapy can cure the problem or may be a good supplement of T3 hormones would reduce the infection spreading inside. An exception is there with people who are on desiccated thyroid as the ratio of T3 and T4 in this disorder ranges very high. A person tends to have a free T4 level that's lower in its range when the free T3 level is where it should be, in the upper part of its range.

Remarkable features of a T3 supplement are:

  • It helps in improving the person’s libido.
  • Improves the memory and vision.
  • It reduces most of the common symptoms such as nervous problems, depression, chronic constipation, insomnia, pain in joints etc.
  •  In many cases it has greatly helped in losing weight too.

Our modernized medical world is coming up with various essential treatments nowadays for treating hypothyroid patients that are effectively created with the combination of both T4 and T3 hormones in the amount of quantity that a body requires. T3 supplements are not commonly prescribed by most doctors. But to cure hormonal deficiencies, herbal extracts are very much beneficial as they are 100% natural and safe in use.
