From ancient times, massage is used to relax the body and remove stress. There are many massagers available in the market. Ayurvedic solutions, oils, etc. are the common massagers used all over the word. In recent years, electronic massagers have been introduced in the market, so as to save human effort in massaging. However, is electronic massager harmful for body is a common question that arises in our minds while buying these massagers from the market. Let us find out the answer.

To understand the positive or negative effect of electronic massager on our body, let us first know about the electronic devices used for massage. Here are some examples of electronic massagers:

  • Abdominal toning belt
  • Handheld massagers
  • Coiner therapy massager
  • Back penetrating shiatsu massager
  • Body back buddy classic trigger point massager
  • The gentle vibrations massager

Before finding out the harmfulness of the massager, let us focus on its actual functions:

  • Massagers help to control some acute and chronic diseases, hypertension, low blood pressure, arthritis, rheumatism, frozen shoulder, stomach pain, lumbar muscle strain, toothache, abdominal pain, neuralgia, abnormal menstruation, impotence, sexual function recession, whole body fatigue, neurasthenia, back pain, neck pain, leg pain, etc.
  • Massagers also help in achieving beauty effects, weight loss, postpartum abdominal relaxation, breast augmentation, facial acne and so on.
  •  Massagers also help in local blood circulation and to accelerate metabolism.

In this way we can say that electronic massagers play an important role in making the body fit. Sometimes or in some circumstances, electronic massagers can cause harmful effects on the body. To recognize the harmful impact of electronic massagers on the body, keep the following points in mind:

  • Some motor massager devices produce high frequency and intensity vibrations. So these massagers can be harmful on the young ones. However, adults can definitely use them.
  • Massagers using electromagnetic vibration have stronger vibration strength, so it is used preferably as a sports massager and only for young people.
  • People with weak physique are advised not to use the massager. Due to use of massagers, there are chances of stimulation of Periosteum, causing injury or inflammation.
  • When you are using massagers in case of injury, local inflammation, swelling or heat pain, you should keep in mind that massagers only alleviate the pain. So it is harmful to use electronic massager in these cases.
  • Experts point out that, as electronic massagers have harmful effects in case of improper use, they have to be used in a proper manner. Do not use massagers on early fracture, dislocation, etc. Massagers can make the case serious. So better to contact a doctor in such cases.
  • It can be harmful if you try to cure cancer, blood diseases, etc. by using electronic massager.
  • Use of massager during fasting, drunkenness, and after strenuous exercise can be dangerous.

In this way, if we use the electronic massager in a proper manner, it will not cause any harm to our body. Keep in mind that electronic massagers can only be used in primary cases of pain. In case of increase in the intensity of pain after using the electronic massager, don’t forget to consult your doctor immediately.
