A treatment for heart disease varies from person to person. In the recent years, heart diseases are increasing remarkably all over the world. Treatment for heart diseases includes various changes in life style, medications, surgery, or other medical procedures.

Heart diseases can be treated by various treatments such as yogic asana, acupressure, magnetic therapy, and eating a healthy heart diet. These are the most common treatments for heart diseases.

Treatments for Cardiovascular Heart Disease:-

The aim of treating this disease is to open the narrowed artery that causes the symptoms. Depending on severity of the blockage of arteries, treatment may include:

Change in Life Style to Prevent Heart Diseases: Whether your heart disease is severe or mild, it is very sure that your doctor will recommend you to change your life style as a part of the treatment. The life style changes include - diet with low fat, diet with low sodium level, no smoking, avoiding the intake of alcohol and regular exercise.

These changes will automatically lower the risk of common heart diseases like high blood pressure, cholesterol level and obesity. It is significant for one to change their life style according to their doctor’s recommendation in order to live a long and healthy life.

Medications: Your doctor may prescribe some medication to control your heart diseases. These medications will be for lowering your blood pressure, converting enzyme, beta-blockers, diuretics and to control blood thinning.

Medical procedures or surgery: If the medications are not able to clear the blockage of arteries, the medical procedure has to be followed. A common medical procedure for the heart diseases is coronary angioplasty. It is done by placing a catheter in the artery of your arm and threading a small balloon towards your blocked artery to re-open it. During angioplasty, a small metal coil (stent) is placed in the artery.

Some times, in a critical condition, By-Pass Surgery is very necessary. In this, the blocked portion of the artery is removed.

Treatment for Heart Infections:-

Antibiotics: Your doctor will prescribe you some antibiotics only if the infection is caused due to bacteria. Antibiotics are mostly prescribed for two to six weeks or depending on the severity of the infection.

Medication to regulate the heartbeat: If the infection affects your heart beat, then your doctor may prescribe medication such as anginotensin or beat blockers in order to normalize the heartbeat. In severe cases, heart surgery is recommended.

Treatments for Heart Defects:-

IIf the heart defect is minor, it does not require any treatment. However, in case of severe defect it may require regular checkups, medication, and even a surgery. Treatment for the heart defect depends on the severity of the disease, it may include:

Medications: Some mild congenital heart diseases do not require any treatments. Some medication can help them in curing this disease.

Catherization: Catherization is a technique, in which heart is repaired without opening the chest and heart. In this procedure, a doctor inserts a thin tube into a leg vein and guides it to the heart with the x-ray pictures. Once the catheter detects the defect, tiny tools are inserted through the catheter to repair the heart defects.

Open- heart surgery: In some cases, your doctor may perform an open-heart surgery to repair your heart defects. This surgery includes a major medical   procedure and requires long time to recover.

 Heart transplant:-

f in any case, a heart defect is left untreated, then one should opt for a heart transplant in order to prevent heart diseases.

Treatment for the Heart Arrhythmias:-

Your doctor will recommend you several medical advice and surgery according to the condition of your heart in order to prevent heart diseases.

Medications: Medication is very important to regulate your heartbeat. It is important to take medication only after consulting the doctor in order to avoid unwanted complications.

Medical procedures: The two major methods to treat heart arrhythmias are ‘cardio version and cardiac ablation’. In cardio version, an electric shock is used to treat or reset your heartbeats. This method doesn’t involve pain. Cardiac ablation is performed on the areas of heart that are causing arrhythmia. It destroys small areas of heart tissue.

Pacemakers: In some cases, doctor may recommend to have a pacemaker in order to regulate your heartbeat. The surgery to implant pace maker is minor and recovers soon.
