Exercise can increase your stamina and also help you to burn unnecessary cholesterol and fat. However, you should make sure that you don’t perform excess exercise, as it can stress out your body. Physical activity also helps to reduce the diabetes risk and make the smooth functioning of the blood.
- Quit Smoking
Smoking is injurious to health. If you have any history of stroke or such risk factors, then stay away from smoking. Smoking is a common factor for cholesterol and high BP. Quitting smoking will surely minimize the risk of stroke. Prepare yourself mentally to quit this harmful thing. Minimize the intake of nicotine and give some time to your body to adjust.
- Improve your Diet
Include more green leafy vegetables in your diet. Increase intake of fruits and vegetables that are rich in antioxidants, which can prevent your blood vessels against atherosclerosis. Food rich in fiber is also advised as it reduces the stroke risk. Avoid excess salt which is found in red meat as it increases the chances of stroke.
- Control your Blood Pressure
It is extremely necessary to control blood pressure when it comes to preventing stroke. The chances of stroke is more if your BP goes to 140/90 mmHg or more. If you think that you have more than the mentioned reading, then start taking precautions immediately.

Green leafy vegetables or salad is healthy for your body. It helps to flush away your body toxins easily. According to research made, patients with stroke chances are advised to eat veggies or salad at least once every day. This increases your intake of vitamins B6, folic acid and B12 that help in improving the blood level of homocysteine. High level of amino acid increases chances of stroke and heart disease.
