In simple language, blood pressure is a pressure that is exerted by blood in the arteries. Heart is the main pump in your body, which passes the blood through the arteries to all other body parts by contracting and relaxing.

In the contraction process, when heart forces blood through arteries and pushes the pressure of blood at the highest point of level, it is called systolic pressure. When your heart relaxes between the beats and the blood pressure remains at the lowest level, is called diasystolic pressure.

Blood pressure changes with the activities you perform daily. It usually changes during the daytime. Blood pressure mostly rises due to nervousness, excitement, and activeness. Your blood pressure remains constant when you are sitting or standing still. At this time the level should be lower than 120/80. When the level increases to 140/90, you should conclude that you have been suffering from high blood pressure. High blood pressure is common among the people as compared to low blood pressure.

What is High Blood Pressure Level (Hypertension) and its causes? 

Hypertension is commonly known as high blood pressure. It does not have any symptoms. This disease leads to inefficient beating of heart. Causes of high blood pressure cannot be explained but the following factor plays great role in increasing your blood pressure.  

  1. Physical activity
  2. Obesity
  3. Eating too much of sodium in diet
  4. Drinking too much of alcohol
  5. Eating unhealthy diet
  6. Family history 

What is Low Blood Pressure Level (Hypotension) and its causes?

Hypotension is commonly known as low blood pressure. Hypotension occurs when the reading is low than the normal blood pressure. It can be caused due to several reasons.

  1. Chemotherapy or biological drugs
  2. Anemic or low blood counts
  3. Due to some physical conditions or diseases such as dehydration
  4. Due to some medication problems
  5. Irregular heart beats or rhythm changes
  6. Shock 

How to Control the Blood pressure level?

People suffering from high blood pressure should change their lifestyle on time in order to prevent themselves from several heart diseases.

  1. Increase the physical activity in your daily routine
  2. Lose your weight.
  3. Minimize the level of sodium in your diet
  4. Manage your diabetes level
  5. Avoid drinking alcohol
  6. Eat healthy heart diet
  7. Quit smoking

High blood pressure increases the risk of common heart problems or diseases.

3.    Coronary Artery Disease

4.    Hypertensive Heart Disease

Blood pressure can be the cause of several heart diseases.  Therefore, you should try to maintain a normal blood pressure in order to increase your life span. One should avoid sedentary life style in order to control the blood pressure.
