More than 60 million Americans suffer from hair loss, of which two thirds are men. Women compared to men are less affected by the hair loss process and they mainly experience hair loss during their post menopause period. Baldness is most common among men and it has been accounted that more than 50% of men undergo the process of baldness after crossing the age of 50. The very early symptom of baldness is thinning of hair and immediate care should be taken the moment you realize the quality of hair is degrading and the hair is thinning.

There can be several factors that may cause thinning of hair: genetic build ups, ill health, poor diet, emotional stress, medication treatments, Post-partum Alopecia and such. In fact, 95% of hair loss is due to androgenic alopecia or inherited causes. The hair thinning process starts when the hair follicles are vulnerable to some hormones. Both the men and women have hormones like testosterone, androsteinedione, and dihydrotestosterone or DHT that are present in varying ratios depending upon the sex.

The hair follicles contain an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase that converts the testosterone into DHT. The DHT hormone is the primary cause of hair loss. As men have greater proportions of the male hormone testosterone than women, they are more susceptible to hair loss. It is also not true that women who are suffering thinning of hair contain the male hormone in great amount. Bodies of some women are more sensitive to the male hormone than usual as a result of which they experience hair thinning.

If you are suffering from thinning of hair you may try out the following remedial steps.

  • You may try out with semi-permanent hair coloring in order to add volume to your hair. The coloring process normally does not contain ammonia or peroxide that damages hair. In order to build volume to your hair you may also apply mousse at the root of the hair which will provide you support and protect it from falling down.
  • Always dry the root of your hair before you tie your hair. Also use a comb to increase the tension. This will increase the volume of your hair.
  • Shampoo and condition your hair daily in order to keep it healthy and clean.

The e-book named How To Naturally Regrow Lost Hair in 15 Min. a Day will provide you effective ways to treat thinning of hair. You will be able to learn natural techniques of protecting your hair from falling and maintaining the good health of hair as well.
