Health benefits of figs are really accountable to prevent many health disorders. Figs are seasonal fruits which are mostly found in the western parts of Asia. Figs belong to the mulberry family. It helps you to prevent many disorders like constipation, indigestion, piles, diabetes, cough, bronchitis, and asthma. Also, it helps you to gain weight when taken with milk. Figs are enriched with minerals, vitamins and fiber. Also, it has calcium, iron, phosphorus, manganese, sodium, potassium, and chlorine. There are lots of uses of figs, especially in curing health disorders. Following are the main advantages of figs

  • Figs are very low on calories. So if you are on diet, figs are a good option to be included in your diet. Plus, they contain fiber which is essential for the digestive system. The overall contents of figs are beneficial for the health and wellness of the human body.
  • Figs are instant source of energy as they are rich in minerals, vitamins, and anti anti-oxidants. They can provide you quick energy when you feel really low. Dried figs are considered as healthy and nutritious food. Fresh figs are also considered as good anti-oxidants. Fresh figs contain high levels of anti oxidant vitamins like vitamin A, E, and K.
  • The phyto-chemical compounds in figs help to search the oxygen derived free radicals from the body, which are harmful, to protect us from the diseases like cancer, diabetes, and other infections. It also helps to prevent constipation. The fiber in figs helps to do the same. This fiber also helps you to control the cholesterol levels in your body. When fiber goes through your digestive system in the body, it wipes out the chunks of cholesterol from it.  Fiber also helps to clean out the substances which cause cancer. For women, it helps to minimize the risk of post-menopausal breast cancer.        
  • There is one special advantage of figs. If taken in an adequate amount, figs are really helpful in weight loss. Most nutritionists advice to eat figs to control or reduce weight. However, it can help you to increase weight too. If consumed with milk, it helps you to gain weight. In this way, figs are beneficial for gaining and reducing weight.
  • Figs contain adequate amount of fatty acids like phenol, Omega-3, and Omega-6. These acids help to reduce the risk of heart disease. 
  • Intake of figs is really important for diabetic patients. It is recommended by the American Diabetes Association. Fig has a good amount of potassium in it. Potassium helps to reduce and control the sugar level. Also, fig leaves contain anti-diabetic properties. Fig leaves are helpful for the persons taking insulin injection to minimize the amount. Potassium also helps in reducing the chances of hypertension. Hypertension can be avoided by high potassium and low sodium quantities. Figs have the exact combination of high potassium and low sodium, which makes it very effective for avoiding hypertension.
  • Figs contain ample amount of calcium which is essential for the strengthening of the bones. People who are suffering from urinary calcium loss can use figs to maintain the calcium levels. Also, potassium content in figs helps to avoid this.
  • Old people generally suffer from vision loss. This vision loss is due to macular degeneration. Fruits like figs are really helpful to avoid macular degeneration.
  • Sore throat can be cured by figs
  • Figs are very useful in reducing sexual weakness. Figs soaked in milk helps you to have an active sex life.
