Principle behind the Vaccination Schedule for Kids
Vaccination helps to create antibodies in the body. These antibodies carry out defense mechanism and fight off any of the foreign substances i.e. viruses or bacteria attacks on the body.

Following is known to be the vaccine schedule for kids which is published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- First dose should be given at the time of birth to 2 months of age of an infant
- Second dose should be given at the age of 1 to 4 months
- Third dose is given at the age of 6 to 18 months
Hib Vaccine
· First dose at the age of 2 months
· Second dose at the age of 4 months
· Third dose at the age of 6 months
· Fourth dose at the age of 12 to 15 months
Polio Vaccine
· First dose at the age of 2 months
· Second dose at the age of 4 months
· Third dose at the age of 6 to 18 months
· Fourth dose at the age of 4 to 6 years
DTaP Vaccine
· First dose at the age of 2 months
· Second dose at the age of 4 months
· Third dose at the age of 6 months
· Fourth dose at the age of 15 to 18 months
· Fifth dose at the age of 4 to 6 years
· DTaP is when he /she is 11 years old
Pneumococcal Vaccine
· 1st dose at 2 months
· 2nd dose at 4 months
· 3rd dose at 6 months
· 4th dose at 12 to 18 months
Rotavirus Vaccine
· 1st dose at 2 months
· 2nd dose at 4 months
· 3rd dose at 6 months
Hepatitis A Vaccine
· 1st dose at 12 months
· 2nd dose at 18 months
Along with these Influenza vaccine, MMR vaccine, Varicella vaccine, Meningococcal vaccine, Human papillomavirus vaccine, etc. are also included in the vaccination schedule for kids.
