 Treatment of eczema helps the patient to get relief, as the skin condition is too much painful to deal with. What is Eczema?

Eczema is a type of dermatitis that includes dryness of skin. The word is of German origin that means ‘to boil over’. A person suffering from eczema faces recurring skin rashes and other symptoms like redness of the infected skin area, swelling and itching.

Eczema is also referred as ‘dermatitis’ by many medical professionals. Many languages treat the terms dermatitis and eczema to be similar while in some languages, dermatitis means an ‘acute condition’ whereas eczema is used when the condition is chronic.

Usually, in many cases, the patient develops crusts, flakes, blisters cracks and bleeding as well. On the other hand, some people suffer from skin discoloration for a temporary period. Whereas nonstop scratching oozes out blood, results in scars and enlarges the rash at the infected skin area.

What are the Causes of Eczema?

  • Exposure to bacteria and immune system modulators is the major cause that leads to eczema in humans. However, these factors also increase the risk of asthma and other allergies.
  • Many cases of eczema have been reported due to an allergic reaction to the house dust mites.
  • Imbalance in hormones is also one of the causes of eczema. For example, low thyroid function and cases of hypothyroidism, leads to comparatively low blood supply which can be a major cause of eczema.
  • Improper elimination of waste products due to imbalance in digestive system affects the skin quality which is not a good thing.
  • Certain allergies to food stuffs and previous suffering from diseases like bloating, diarrhea, stomach ache, heart burn, etc. lead a platform to the dermatitis infection.
  • Fungal growth on certain body parts due to constant humidity and exposure to toxins makes the skin sensitive that ultimately leads to eczema.

  • Cotton blouses
  • Cotton trousers
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Vaseline or any petroleum lotion or gel
  • At times, you can make use of evening primrose oil and flaxseed oil
  • Vitamins like vitamin A, E and vitamin E oil

Treatment of Eczema

To treat eczema, try to eliminate all the allergens and get rid of any chemical components. Stay away from allergens like strong creams or lotions to which your skin is sensitive or allergic, perfumes, laundry detergent, etc. Apart from this, keep a check on your diet and try to avoid those food stuffs that develop allergy to your digestive system. Try to wear cotton clothing most of the time as it allows sufficient air contact to your skin.
