There are many types of treatment for nose blisters available in the market. We all are familiar with the nose blisters which cause inflammation and pain in the affected individuals. It is known to be an infection of the nose. There are many types of blisters that take place in the nose which include fever blister, nose piercing blister, blood blister, sun blister, red blister, water blister, sunburn blister and also recurring blister. Blisters are infection of meibomian cyst which is basically a bacterium.
Nose blisters affect people who have frequent health issues like lack of physical immunity, blood infection, poor hygiene, excessive intake of sugar or drinking contaminated water.
Blisters can also develop the around eyes, tongue or facial skin. It spoils the affected part and gets swelled by developing inflammation or burning of skin near it.
Causes of Nose Blisters
One of the commonly occurring blisters is fever blister which can occur near the nose, mouth or lips or in some cases inside the nose.
These are caused by herpes simplex virus, also known as cold sores. This happens because there is a presence of moist environment inside our nose. Its virus peacefully grow there.
In addition to this, as the skin of the nostrils is quite delicate, these blisters become more painful as compared to their appearance in the mouth of the lips.
Apart from this virus, blisters can take place as an allergic reaction present in nasal sprays.
Impetigo is a bacterial infection which can also cause blisters in the nose. Presence of staphylococcus or staph bacteria inside the nose can also give rise to nose blisters.
Treatment for Nose Blisters
- It is necessary to plan appropriate treatment for nose blisters. It specifically depends on the cause of the blisters. When it is formed by bacterial infection, then doctors prescribe antibiotic ointments or oral antibiotics for its cure depending on the severity of the blister.
- When the herpes simplex virus is present in the blister, then it is found that antibiotics have no effect on it. As a result, it is treated with anti-viral medications e.g. famciclovir, acyclovir, and valacyclovir. In some cases, topical anti-viral ointments are also useful.
- Mild cases of nose blisters can be treated at home using ice. In this treatment, ice is placed at the site of the affected area. This helps to reduce the pain and fastens the healing process.
- Along with this, you can also take supplements like lysine, vitamin C and zinc which can help to improve the healing process.
- It is important to know that if the infection is caused by staph bacteria, then it is totally contagious. Keep the affected area clean with regular cleaning with disinfectant, so as to prevent it from spreading. Consult your doctor as soon as possible, so as to start the proper medication therapy to clear this blister.
- Use skin protectants to keep the blister moist. You can use petrolatum, cocoa butter and glycerin to keep it moist and heal naturally.
- Analgesics which are available in oral form also help in relieving pain
