Thyroid Disease and its Cure

The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland which is ductless in nature. This gland works by secreting hormones directly into the bloodstream. The thyroid gland is situated in the base of the neck on both the sides of the lower part of the larynx or the voice box. The gland is also situated in the upper part of the trachea or the wind pipe.
Thyroid is directly linked to the metabolism in the body, since it produces chemicals which aids in controlling metabolism. The thyroid gland is linked to various bodily functions such as physical growth and development, fertility, metabolism, organ function and puberty.
The four main types of thyroid disease are-
- Hyperthyroidism; where excess thyroid hormone is secreted
- Hypothyroidism; where a small quantity of thyroid hormone is secreted
- Benign; this a non-cancerous thyroid disease
- Thyroid cancer
Conditions in which thyroid is usually found are-
Hyperthyroidism: Under the condition of hyperthyroidism the thyroid gland produces excess thyroid hormone. The thyroid hormone under hyperthyroidism is overactive. The most common reason for hyperthyroidism is an autoimmune condition which is called the graves disease.
Hypothyroidism: Under hypothyroidism the thyroid gland produces much less of the thyroid hormone. The thyroid hormone is underactive under hypothyroidism. Some symptoms of hypothyroidism are- dry skin, constipation, weight gain, puffy skin, hair loss, fatigue, menstrual irregularities and cold intolerance.
Treatment for thyroid disease-
The conventional treatment-
The conventional treatment includes replacing the deficient thyroid hormone. For the treatment for underactive thyroid disease, Levothyroxine is administered to the patient. It is advised that the conventional treatment should be continued even when there are no symptoms left. During the conventional treatment the thyroid hormone levels should be continuously monitored yearly after a stable dose of medication is resolute. Healthy supplements when taken in the most appropriate manner would aid the body absorb the synthetic thyroid hormone.
The alternative treatment for thyroid-
The alternative treatment for thyroid uses natural herbal remedies and natural supplements. This treatment uses non-hormonal methods. The alternative treatment method for thyroid is not a life long therapy. Under alternative treatment Hypothyrex is administered to the patient. Hypothyrex is formulated with certified herbal extracts along with minerals and vitamins. Hypothyrex consists of around 750mg of thyroid invigorating ingredients.
Thyroid can also be cured with the help of home remedies. Home remedies which are used to cure thyroid contain Licorice, licorice is the main ingredient in jelly beans and ice cream.
Licorice is helpful in maintaining the balance between the glands and the body’s energy expenditure. Licorice works to increase the production of energy in an individual which in turn helps in maintaining good health. Licorice is also known to be an active ingredient for the treatment for other health conditions and also prevents throat inflammation.
Thyroid when noticed should be treated at the earliest to avoid further complications. The signs of thyroid when manifested in the body should be taken care of and not neglected. Thyroid is one of the few diseases from which one can be easily cured and treated.
