Rosacea Cure

Before focusing on Rosacea cure, let us first focus on what is Rosacea and what are its symptoms. Rosacea is defined as a chronic condition which is represented as facial erythema or redness. It is known to be a harmless cosmetic condition. This skin condition was first discovered in northwestern European country. This can affect both women and men between the age group of 30 - 60. This skin condition starts with redness on the face typically across the nose, cheeks or forehead.
Causes of Rosacea
Cathelicidins
It is recently studied that increased level of peptide cathelicidin and stratum corneumtryptic enzymes (SCTEs) can cause Rosacea.
Intestinal Bacteria
Intestinal bacteria also play a major role in this disease. It is observed that overgrowth of small intestinal bacteria is responsible for this condition.
Demodex Mites
It is found that patients with Rosacea have increased numbers of the mite in the body, especially in case of steroid induced Rosacea. It triggers the condition.
Other Causes
Episodes of flushing and blushing can develop Rosacea. Exposure to higher temperature can cause the flushing in the face and results into Rosacea.
Some food and drinks that trigger this condition include alcohol, caffeine containing drinks, red wine, aged cheeses, yogurt, beer, cured pork, etc.
Specific medications can also trigger this condition, for e.g. Steroid induced Rosacea caused due to use of steroids. Along with this, the following factors directly take part in the condition causing Rosacea.
· Wind
· Emotional stress
· Heavy exercise
· Hot baths
· Cold weather
· Spicy foods
· Humidity
· Marinated meats
· Indoor heat
· Certain skin-care products
· Heated beverages
· Certain cosmetics
· Medical conditions
· Dairy products
Rosacea Cure
Now as we are familiar with what this condition means, let us focus on its treatment to cure Rosacea. It basically depends on how the condition is severe and which type of Rosacea is present. If the case is mild, there is no need to treat the patient as it can cure on its own. The actual therapy of Rosacea is not directly curative, rather it just reduces the situation gradually. There is also a long-term treatment available which is for one to two years. In some cases, lifelong treatment is needed for permanent reduction.
Behavior
· It is important to avoid the triggering factor which can result in Rosacea
· As we all know sunlight is a common trigger of this condition; one should avoid excessive exposure to sun.
· People with Rosacea can use a sunscreen lotion or wear hats with broad brims.
· Gently cleanse the eyelids with diluted baby shampoo to reduce triggering of this condition.
Medications
· Oral medications like tetracycline antibiotics and topical antibiotics are used as first line defense to relieve papules, inflammation, pustules, and redness.
· Azelaic acid like Finacea or Skinoren is also used to minimize inflammatory bumps, lesions and papules.
· Alpha-hydroxy acid peels also help to relieve redness associated with Rosacea.
· Medicines containing beta-blockers nadolol and propranolol are also beneficial in treating and curing Rosacea.
· Recently, there is clinical trial of plant product methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) and silymarin have been used successfully to treat Rosacea.
Laser
Laser treatment is also used for successful curing of Rosacea. In this treatment, single wavelength of light is passed through the skin which reduces the condition of Rosacea.
From this we can conclude that Rosacea cure is possible, provided you visit the doctor as soon as possible.
