Remedies for Acid Reflux

Acid reflux is basically a gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) condition. In this condition, the food or liquid in the stomach leaks backwards into the esophagus which is attached to the mouth to the stomach. This action irritates the esophagus, causing heartburn and other related symptoms. There are many remedies for acid reflux. These are listed as below.
Commonly used remedies in the treatment of acid reflux include:
- Acid suppressants, e.g. histamine2-receptor antagonists. Histamine is a name of chemical that get released in the body under different conditions, especially during inflammation. During acid reflux condition, it can release more acid in the stomach, so blocking it reduces acid production.
- Proton pump inhibitors are the type of medicines that reduce the production of acid in the stomach by directly attacking on the acid producing cells on the stomach wall.
- Prokinetic agents, these medicines promote emptying of the stomach. It helps to increase the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter.
- Antacids are over-the-counter remedies that are usually used to treat mild acid-reflux symptoms.
Remedies for Acid Reflux
· It contains Dexlansoprazole which works by blocking acid production in the stomach. This remedy is called proton pump inhibitor (PPI).
· Decreasing excess stomach acid due to Dexilant will relieve symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, persistent cough, and trouble sleeping.
· It contains Esomeprazole which also works by blocking acid production in the stomach.
· It has the same effect as that of Dexilant Oral
· It contains proton pump inhibitor remedy Lansoprazole
· It is used to treat acid reflux, ulcers, erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Zantac Oral: It has Ranitidine to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and helps in curing reflux action.
