Natural Remedies for PMS

 PMS is a short form of premenstrual syndrome which is basically a disorder in which a set of hormonal changes take place, leading to a wide range of physical or emotional symptoms. PMS occurs about 5 to 11 days before a menstrual cycle. These symptoms stop when menstruation ends. There are many natural remedies for PMS. You can use them for minimizing the symptoms.

  • Calcium

According to studies, it is said that women have low levels of calcium. Calcium supplementation may reduce the severity of symptoms of PMS. Women with more intake of calcium from food sources have minimum PMS symptoms.

So you can use 300 mg of calcium carbonate four times a day as a natural remedy to reduce bloating, pain, depression, mood swings, and food cravings.

  • Chaste Tree Berry

Chaste tree berry is very popular natural remedy for premenstrual syndrome. Chaste tree berry helps to reduce PMS symptoms. But the common side effects of chaste tree berry are headache, nausea, digestive disturbances, acne, menstrual disorders, itching, and skin rashes.

  • Magnesium

The magnesium is found naturally in food and also available as supplements. Magnesium supplements are found to improve PMS mood changes. Magnesium helps to reduce swelling of the hands and legs, weight gain, breast tenderness, and abdominal bloating during menstrual cycle.

  • Evening Primrose Oil

  • Acupuncture

Viburnum is used for all sorts of PMS. If you take 30 to 60 drops of the tincture in warm water, this will help to maintain the inward and downward energetics of menstruation cycle. It reduces and relaxes muscle tension, uterine cramps, and spasms.

Dandelion is also a type of herb which contains vitamin A, potassium and iron. Two cups of dandelion root or leaf tea can help to reduce menstrual ailments such as water retention, bloating, muscle spasms, swollen breasts, acne, anemia and inflammation.
