- Take a warm bath. While taking a bath lower the lights in the bathroom or even better would be to use soft candle light. Lowering the lights or using dim lights would reduce the negative visual effects that one usually experiences along with a migraine attack.
- Use a cool wet compress on the head where the pain is most severe. Use the compress in a dark and quiet room, by doing so you would reduce the light or noise sensitivity and lessen nausea. When the wet compress gets warm, you can re-wet the compress and apply the cool compress again on head.
- Receive a gentle massage. A gentle facial massage is known to be a suitable cure for migraine headaches. Gently massage the area below the cheek bones in circular motion. Using a circular motion below the cheek bones relieves sinus pain and also stimulates blood circulation.
- Massage your temples. You should stay seated in a quiet and dim room which has low lighting. You should make sure you close your eyes and relax. Using a circular motion gently massage the area around the temples.
