Home Remedies for Sinus

When you are facing sinus infections it could be both chronic and acute. Generally, the sinus infection starts as a cold due to natural factors such as changes in weather or due to sinus allergy which causes swelling of the mucous membranes and increased production of watery mucus for a certain period. 

 

You could identify sinus in its early stages by observing its classic symptoms such as nasal blocking, extended thick yellow nasal discharge or thin and clear discharge in mild cases, ongoing front headache and fever with a painful throat and ear problems in some cases. This infection can be treated as there are some effective home remedies for sinus.    

Home Remedies for Sinus

Sinus presents an individual with lots of pain and distress which at times is unable to bear. Ultimately, there are several cures in the form of medications and therapies that are available for sinus. From these medications and therapies, you get a good relief from the pain and anguish suffered by you having sinusitis, but in some cases you could also replace these medications by home remedies. The home remedies for sinus offer efficient cures for sinus and could be relied upon.  

Compared to the therapies and medications, these home remedies are cost effective, but must be considered carefully according to the condition of the sinus and after consultation with the doctor. The results could be disappointing and at times even injurious if you consider these home remedies in case of chronic sinus without consulting the doctor. These remedies are easy to follow as the ingredients required by post of the popular home remedies are easily available in your kitchen. You need to follow proper instructions while preparing the home remedies. Some of the effective home remedies are as follows:

·         Take few capsules of cayenne during or after each meal for many days till the infection is cleared up. On the other hand, put 1 tsp of cayenne in a cup of hot water and drink this thrice a day.

·         A tsp of black cumin seeds tied in a skinny cotton cloth provides relief when inhaled.

·         Add few drops of eucalyptus oil to ½ cup of boiling water. Decant the mixture into a bowl and inhale the steam for 15 to 20 minutes with your head covered with a large towel.

·         Put few drops of eucalyptus oil on your handkerchief and snuffle occasionally.

·         Make a nasal flush by mixing ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp baking soda in one cup of warm water. Drop this mixture in your nose by filling it into a syringe.

·         Steep 1 to 2 tsp of thyme in a cup of boiling water for 15 minutes. Drink a cup full of this mixture thrice a day as thyme is good for respiratory infections due to its strong antiseptic properties.

·         Push your thumbs to the either side of the nostril in order to bring a fresh blood supply to the area and calming relief.     

·         Spinach and carrot juice taken frequently is also found to be highly beneficial.
