What causes diabetes is a question which cannot be an answered as one liner. In spite of the rapid development in the field, diabetes is a disease which has left medical science bemused for years. Regarded as a gift of prosperity, any type of diabetes is the direct result of distortion in the type of food that in consumed. The disease is caused due to the decrease or disruption in the secretion of insulin hormone by the beta cells of pancreatic gland which results in the increase in the blood sugar. The rise in the level of glucose or simple sugar is due to the malfunction of cells to absorb glucose for the breakdown of sugar to energy because of low production of insulin hormone. The inefficiency of body cells to employ glucose results in the usage of proteins and carbohydrates for the purpose of energy production which can result in tiredness and weakness.

Surface reasons for the rise in the level of diabetes in the body:

Obesity: Obesity is a state in which a person gains extra weight more than required by the body cells to perform normal body functions. It is a disease which is associated with the attack of secondary lethal diseases. Obesity is the result of intake of meals including cholesterol, excessive fat, starch and carbohydrate.

Reduction in the rate of physical exercise: Physical exercise like walking, jogging, dancing, swimming minimum for half an hour daily helps in maintaining the rate of fats and carbohydrates consumed. It aids in the increase in metabolism rate which breaks down complex molecules into simpler molecules like glucose, which is readily absorbed by the body. Intake of fat gaining products without the inclusion of exercise in your daily regime may result in the accumulation of starch and carbohydrates in liver and around body cells. Fat around the surface of cells reduces the absorption of insulin hormone required for the breakdown of glucose into energy.

Smoking: The risk of developing diabetes increases with the inhalation of more than 25 cigarettes per day according to the American health association. The nicotine and tar found in tobacco results in the accumulation of carcinogen deposition in lungs and blood which decreases the intake of insulin by the body cells.

Age: Diabetes can be one of the by-products of increasing age. The decrease in the rate of activity due to age can result in the accumulation of fat which further leads to the attack of type-2 diabetes. Type-1 diabetes is more common among children due to the malformation of insulin hormone in their body.

Internal factors which are responsible for the development of diabetes:

Dysfunction in the production or absorption of insulin: Viral infection or hormonal changes can cause malformation in the production of insulin hormone which is the leading factor in absorption and conversion of glucose to energy required by the body.

Genetic or hereditary reasons: You may suffer from diabetes if either of your parents suffered from this disease due to the inheritance of diabetes gene in repressed or dominant from. If the gene is in repressed form in your DNA, then your children are liable to the attack of this disease, whereas if you have this disease in dominant form then you may suffer from diabetes.

Diabetes is an incurable disease which can be prevented with the help of self help guides, inclusion of healthy diet and exercise in the daily routine. If the problem persists, then consultation with your nearest doctor is recommended.
