A Pre diabetes symptom is a condition which is medically termed as an impaired glucose tolerance state in the body. The classification of the pre-condition is termed on the basis of the indication of glucose level in the body which is not enough to characterize as diabetes. The impaired glucose tolerance test of the suspect is between 105 to 120 before fasting and 120to 180 after two hours of first intake of meals. Any range more than this falls under diabetes.  The American Diabetes Association stated that 54 million people in US are anticipated for the attack of diabetes mellitus, type-2 over the age of 20. Symptoms of pre diabetes are:

  • Increase in the rate of thirst: The fluctuation and damage caused in the manufacturing and absorption departments of the body cells increases the deposition of glucose in bloodstream. The decreased activity of glucose utilization increases the proteins and carbohydrate metabolism stored in liver which stimulated the craving for water in the body.
  • Increase in the frequency of urination: The glucose decreases the capacity of water storage affecting the cleaning system of kidneys. This leads to excess of urination of the suspect. A person suspected of diabetes suffers from irregular urinary troubles in the body. The function of excess glucose in bloodstream is to draw extra water along with it, therefore distorting the functions of kidneys.
  • Constant feeling of fatigue and weakness: The accumulation of glucose in bloodstream ceases the conversion of glucose into energy which decreases the stamina of the body as the body is deficient of required energy needed to carry normal body functions.

Symptoms of pre diabetes include anemia and paleness in the skin.

  • Oral disorders: Decreased utilization of water by the body causes dryness and burning sensation especially in the areas of mouth and oral cavity. Reduction in salivation, attack from bacteria and fungus increases with the pre diabetes symptoms. Impaired glucose tolerance increases the risk of periodontitis and gums inflammation.
  • Distortion in vision: The pre diabetes can be judged with the damage in the clear eyesight, formation of double images and blackness felt at times. A trivial rise in the glucose in the bloodstream damages the capillaries of retina which leads to blurred vision.
  • Loss of weight: The reduced activity of body cells to convert glucose into energy forces the metabolic system to employ proteins and carbohydrates in the conversion of energy which eventually decreases the weight of the suspect. If the patient is suffering from sudden loss of weight one cause can be diabetes so doctor’s advice is recommended.

The symptoms of pre diabetes are a warning to the suspect for the immediate control and balance of sugar content in the bloodstream. A health book of medical center can provide adequate information on diet control and exercise regime.
