Maintaining normal blood glucose level is necessary to live a healthy life. It is important for the patient of diabetes. We all know that sugar is the main energy source of the cells. Every food material converts into sugar and then energy. So as to know more about how to maintain normal glucose level, let us fist focus on how glucose is important for our body. 

 

Glucose Level of the Body

·         Glucose is known to be the basic energy source which is required for the human cells.

·         Glucose is a sugar derived from the intake of carbohydrates and other food stuffs. This blood glucose level is maintained and regulated by the insulin present in the pancreas.

·         Whenever there in rise in glucose levels above the normal levels, insulin is released gradually into the bloodstream.

·         The normal blood glucose levels are medically between 70 and 150 mg. But it is observed that it is usually lower in the mornings and rises after every subsequent meal. 

·         Medically, when the normal blood glucose levels rise above 150 mg, it is known as hyperglycemia or high blood sugar. In the other cases, when it is lower than the low 70 mg, it is known as hypoglycemia or low blood sugar.

·         Hypoglycemia is a fatal condition which shows symptoms like irritability and loss of consciousness.

·         In this way, any type of diabetic condition can cause eye, kidney and nerve damage of the body if glucose is below or above normal level.

·         So as a diabetic patient, it is important to check the blood glucose level regularly. This will help to eradicate the possibility of fluctuating blood glucose level.

Normal blood glucose level is calculated by different types of instruments present in the market. Glucose meter, continuous glucose monitoring, wrist watch glucose meter, etc. are used to know the exact level of glucose. Along with this, continuous research is taking place in this field, so as to acquire major accuracy and comfort in the instrument.

 

Diet to Maintain Normal Blood Glucose Level

So as to maintain normal glucose level, it is important to do regular exercise and take proper nutrition. Some important tips regarding this are mentioned as below:

·         Lowering blood glucose through diet is a critical part of living with diabetes. In this case, a healthier diabetic diet can help us to avoid higher risk of diabetes.

·         Monitor your diet properly. A diabetic person should try to take foods in diet that break down slowly, for e.g. low-glycolic foods, oatmeal, peanuts, fruits, barley, peas, zucchini, and granola.

·         Taking decaffeinated coffee will also help to reduce the rate of sugar processing. Morning breakfast with cinnamon roll can slow the speed of increase in blood sugar.

·         Onion and garlic helps to keep blood glucose levels to normal. Try to add these things in your daily diet.

 

In this way, we can conclude that normal blood glucose level is easy to maintain with the help of willpower of a patient.
