Teeth are known to get stained and discolored due to various reasons such as age and intake of items such as tea and coffee.  People who have stained teeth have low levels of confidence and self esteem. They become extremely self-conscious when they are in company. Dental bleaching helps remove deep seated stains.

Dental health and looking good for nearly everyone has always been of paramount importance from the very beginning.

Reasons for teeth discoloration-

Teeth discoloration can take place at any age, due to different reasons. Teeth can get stained during childhood and old age. Teeth can get discolored due to drinking excessive aerated drinks, coffee, and tea. Tea, coffee and soft drinks contain tannin as an ingredient which brings about teeth discoloration. Chewing tobacco and smoking is also a known reason for stains. Teeth discoloration is also caused due to trauma, poor dental hygiene and taking antibiotics as a child.

  1. Dental bleaching is an effective method to remove teeth satins and discoloration. Dental bleaching is one of the well known methods for teeth whitening. This dentistry method uses an argon laser which stimulates the gel on the teeth. Carbamide peroxide is the consisting element in the gel which makes it white and creates hydrogen peroxide a bleaching agent which removes stains from the teeth.
  1. Dental bleaching is known to be one of the most effective methods, since the bleaching agent starts its work once the gel along with heat is applied. Dental bleaching is a quick procedure and provides an even color.
  1. Gels contain oxidizing agents such as carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide, which help in lightening the shade of the teeth. The oxidizing agent goes deep within the porosities in the crystal structure of enamel. Stains in the dentin layer lying underneath the enamel are also whitened. 
  1. Dental bleaching works to remove yellowish deep stains, stuck food particles, bacterial pigments, and stains caused due to intake of antibiotics and tobacco extract stains.

Some more methods for teeth whitening are-

  1. Toothpaste whitening- This method focuses on mild abrasion, this makes the stained surface of the tooth lesser stained each time you brush your teeth with the same toothpaste.
  2. Teeth whitening pens- These pens are extremely easy to carry and take along whenever required. This product can be used on the particular area you would like to bleach for around thirty seconds. This method for teeth whitening is less time consuming and accurate.
  3. Teeth whitening strips- These strips are flexible in nature can be fit across the teeth and held in place with the gel. One can wear these teeth whitening strips while working, this in turn provides independence to the user.

It should be noted that some teeth whitening methods would have side effects such as teeth sensitivity and gum infections.
