Every single person across the globe desires and prefers white teeth. Stained teeth lowers one’s confidence level and also hinders ones smile. Dental whitening is an extremely popular procedure since it works to remove stains.

Factors which lead to teeth discoloration include intake of products such as tea, red wine, coffee and smoking. Even though you maybe taking care of your dental health, stains also occur due to genetics and intake of prescription medicines.

Information on dental whitening-

Dental whitening includes various procedures and whitening products which when applied to ones teeth can remove stains. Stains which occur on the teeth can either be intrinsic in nature where the stains go deep within the enamel. Extrinsic stains are more superficial in nature, where staining of the tooth surface takes place.

Dental whitening procedures-

Tooth pastes for dental whitening: For dental whitening there are a number of products available such as toothpastes which contain bleaching agents. Tooth pastes aid in revitalising the teeth and making them whiter than they already are.

Dental whitening kits: Dental whitening kits are available over the counter from chemists. These kits contain rubber mouth trays and bleaching gels. The main disadvantage of dental whitening kits is that the moulds do not fit the shape of the teeth and they have a limited success ratio when compared to other dental whitening methods.

External bleaching: With the coming of external bleaching procedures one can make out the difference in ones teeth. Professional external bleaching works by bleaching the outside or the external surface of the teeth. External bleaching can be done with the help of dental surgery or at home.

Home bleaching: Home bleaching functions with the help of a rubber mould which is professionally made which fits in to the structure of the teeth. The gel which is used in home bleaching procedures is known to be much stronger and effective than the whitening kits which are available over the counter. For this dental whitening procedure to be effective one would require to wear the tray for a few hours a day for a few weeks.

Laser bleaching technique: Laser bleaching is performed in the dentist’s chair. During this procedure the bleaching gel is placed over the teeth and thereafter a laser is used to enhance the dental whitening process. Laser bleaching takes around two hours for completion.

Along with using dental whitening procedures, it would vital to take care of what you consume in terms of drinking, eating and dental hygiene. Dental hygiene holds a lot of importance to keep the teeth healthy and sparkling.

You must always consult your dentist as to which dental procedure would be most suitable for you. To keep your teeth in good condition you must abstain from environmental influences such as drinking, smoking and eating sugar rich food items.

With dental whitening you can possess a winning smile, which will make you look approachable, attractive and friendly. You can improve your social interaction with a pleasing smile and stain free teeth.
