Teeth are important components which help in the proper functioning of the human body. When we neglect oral hygiene or postpone taking care of our teeth problems in regard to dental health start to erupt. Dental dentures work towards replacing missing teeth.

What are dental dentures?

  1. Dental dentures are a set of false teeth, which are used when teeth go missing due to reasons such as tooth decay and old age. Dentures are non-permanent, removable structures which take the help of denture adhesive to keep the set of teeth in place.
  2. Dental dentures can replace all the upper set of teeth, lower teeth or parts of missing teeth. False teeth are usually made out of porcelain or plastic. Dentures are easy to use since they can easily be removed and cleaned.

Importance of dental dentures-

  1. Dental dentures hold a very important aspect in many lives when one faces tooth loss. Dentures can help your ability to chew food in a much better manner. Dental dentures can also work towards improving the quality of speech.
  2. Dental dentures help in the restoration of self-confidence and makes one feel much more comfortable while smiling.
  3. One need not be self conscious while using dentures as dental dentures adhere to your pre-existing tooth colour and shape. Dentures can improve the vibrancy of your face, while allowing you to smile just like before.

Benefits of using dental dentures-

  1. Dental dentures bring about improvement to the overall appearance and functionality of the mouth. Dentures aid in keeping the jaw structure in place, like it was with real teeth.
  1. Dentures while providing support to the facial muscles prevent signs of facial sagging and signs of aging.

Care required for dentures-

  1. The container in which you store your dentures should be washed after daily use. Dentures should be cleaned twice daily with specially designed brushes which are meant for dentures. You should brush your tissues in the mouth to remove remnants.
  2. One should not repair the dentures, if you have problems with the dentures in regard to the fit, it would be wise to get in touch with your dentist.

Protective measures required for denture usage-

  1. Avoid eating food items which are sticky in nature or food which is fibrous such as meat. Avoid eating raw vegetables, especially if your dentures are new. Abstain from pulling the food forward, try and push it back as you chew.
  2. Use your canine teeth more instead of front teeth and keep the food on either sides of the mouth to balance the dentures.
  3. Make sure you always remove the dental dentures before going to bed. To ensure that your dentures are in good working condition, make regular visits to your dentist.
  4. Dental dentures like your real set of teeth would also require care. Dentures should be stored in water or solutions which are meant for denture storage. You must make sure before going to bed to cover the dentures.

With the coming in dental dentures you can restore your lost smile and bring back the confidence into your life.
