Cosmetic teeth which are also referred to as false teeth or dentures are used in place of missing teeth or damaged teeth. Tooth loss can occur due to various reasons such as old age, improper dental hygiene and gum diseases. Tooth decay and periodontal diseases also cause tooth loss.
Missing teeth are also caused due to factors linked to birth defects, excessive wear and tear and root canal failure. Missing teeth should be treated in time to avoid other health issues such as heart problems.
About of cosmetic teeth-
Cosmetic teeth on most occasions are attached on the normal teeth with the help of non-toxic glues. Cosmetic teeth are custom designed to fit well into the jaw line.
Cosmetic or false teeth constitute materials which gel in the normal color and texture of the teeth. These teeth would not hinder the functionality of the mouth and chewing. The bite is known to get improved with cosmetic teeth as they are well – aligned.
Types of cosmetic teeth-
Dentures: Dentures either complete or partial are a well known solution for missing teeth. If an individual has lost an entire set of teeth one can go in for complete dentures. Dentures are known to improve the chewing ability in the person, while also improving ones facial structure.
The teeth which constitute dentures are made from prosthetic teeth and are available in different shapes and sizes depending on the requirement. Partial dentures function when an individual looses a part of their original set of teeth. The missing parts in the original set of teeth are filled up with the use of partial dentures.
Artificial teeth or cosmetic teeth are fitted into the jaw line with the help of dental bridges. Dental bridges function as treatments with the help of which the false teeth are cemented to the neighbouring teeth with the help of crowns or caps which work as anchors. Crowns aid in covering the decayed tooth and protecting the tooth. Dental bridges do not require extra amount of care, the care required for dental bridges would be the same as your natural teeth.
Tips to take care of cosmetic teeth-
- The use of cosmetic teeth brings along with advanced hygiene precautions required. Extra care should be administered if you are using removable cosmetic teeth.
