It is common that germs affect blocked glands around the eyes and cause swelling. Then eyes turn painful and even reddishness of the nearby eyelid and cheek tissues occur. This is called a stye.
Stye is a major infection that catches the glands of the eyelid. This ordinary infection blocks the glands. The blocked glands have irregular discharge of oil which pushes hard through the wall of the gland and it creates a bump. That bump is painful, red and sore.

There some things that you should remember if you have stye infection. It is hard to prevent stye infection. You should maintain good standard of hygiene around the area of the eyes. By doing this, you can prevent 90% or recurrence of styees.
Don’t put any make up around your eyes and if you have to, then use natural products than the artificial ones.
Recurrence of stye mostly happens if you don’t take good care or maintain hygiene during your stye infection. When you have stye infection, follow the following tips to avoid recurrence of it.
- Take a glass of warm water, add some salt and rinse your infected eyes with it. And while rinsing, make sure that the water does not fall on your clothes or face. So put a towel below your face.
- Put tea bags in hot water for around 2/3 minutes. Let it be cooled, then apply the bag on your affected area and leave it for at least fifteen minutes.
- If not tea bags, then apply water compress for at least fifteen minutes and for four times a day.
- Salt water is good when you want to clean your eyes. Rubbing your eyes can be dangerous for your eyes.
- You can use an herbal eye wash to avoid recurrence of stye
Most styes cure on their own within a few days, but you should make sure that there are no particles left. Use the given accepted home remedies to treat your sore infected eye. To lessen stye infection, use the liquid solution of water and turmeric powder. You should take one teaspoon turmeric powder and boil it in two cups of water and use it when the quantity of water becomes half.
