In today’s world, kids are undergoing lots of tension in their educational and sport activities. It is the role of the parents to keep their kids healthy and active for the whole day. Taking Breakfast
· Breakfast is essential to start a kid’s day. Basic role of breakfast is to fill empty stomach, so as to get your kid going after a long night with no food. Breakfast can help your kid to do better in school.
· You can easily prepare breakfast that includes cold cereal, low-fat milk, fruit, whole-wheat toast, peanut butter, yogurt, whole-grain waffles, etc.
Physical Fitness
· It is important to include physical activities into daily routine of your kid. Walking, skating or jogging can be a part of his/her activity along with friends.
· Kids must take at least 10-minute of activity break every hour, besides reading, doing homework or watching TV.
· Encourage them to climb stairs instead of taking an escalator and elevator
Snacks
· Give your kids snacks which are a great way to refuel
· You can choose snacks which contain different food groups e.g. a glass of low-fat milk, few graham crackers, an apple, celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins.
· Keep in mind that cookies, chips and candy are occasionally fine as a snack, but can’t be provided regularly.
Exercise
· Vigorous exercises or games which make kids to breathe fast with sweating are important activities to carry out a healthy life.
· It helps to pump better and gives more energy which will help your kids to feel the best.
· Start with a warm-up which includes aerobic activities like running, jogging or dancing.
Along with this, you must teach kids about the importance of a healthy routine. Help them to understand why breakfast times are important. You can also make a chart of variety of recipes for breakfast. Other important health tips for kids are given below:
· Add fruits and green vegetables to your kid’s diet. Make this diet interesting by having fresh fruit juices or salads to break the monotony.
· You must ensure that your kid takes plenty of water and fluids in a day. Make sure that they carry a bottle of juice to school.
· Kids should know all about hygiene-related issues. They must learn to wash hands before and after meals. Importance of personal hygiene should be explained in an entertaining manner.
· Look after their dental care by consulting a dentist. Tell them the importance of brushing their teeth.
· Sometimes, your kid may require a daily dose of vitamins. Make sure to check with your doctor about the vitamin intake.
