Hey, every one of us hears about cancer and its effect, but does anyone ever think to know more about it? We usually don’t bother about it, and this is the saddest part. When it comes to the cancer, there can be many questions, which may come to your mind about cancer. These questions can include what is a cancer, what causes it, what are its types and so on.
Nevertheless, many of us do not bother to know it, even if they are infected with cancer since, everyone is too busy in their sedentary life. Nowadays, fortunately cancer information is readily available in newspaper, magazines, internet and media too (TV or Radio). Awareness of any diseases helps in prevention of diseases. Early detection of cancer increases a greater chance of successful recovery.
Cancer can be called as a complex set of diseases or it can be also called as term given to a large group of diseases, which vary in type and location. Each cancer type is unique in its own way because of its causes, symptoms, and methods of treatments.
There are more than 100 types of cancer, which affects various parts of your body. Generally, cell grows and divides to produce more cells only when the body requires new cells. However, when the cell becomes abnormal and keep on dividing to form more cells without any control, which creates mass called as tumor. Tumor can be of two types i.e. malignant cancer (cancerous) or benign cancer (not cancerous).
Most of the cancer can be treated effectively if detected at an early stage i.e. at a benign stage. It can be treated and cured depending on the specific type, location, and the stage of the cancer. Once the cancer is diagnosed, it can be treated with a combination of treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other medicines.
