 Gynecological cancer is one of the deadly diseases among women. The five main types of cancers, which affect the female reproductive organs, are ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, and vulvar cancer. A group of this cancer is known as gynecologic cancer. The sixth type of gynecologic cancer i.e. fallopian cancer is very rare.

Each gynecologic cancer is unique in its own way, with a different sign and symptom, different risk factors, and the prevention strategies. Generally women are at a higher risk of gynecologic cancer especially at an old age.

Symptoms of Gynecologic Cancer

There is no other way to know whether you are suffering from gynecologic cancer. Therefore, it is very important for one, to pay attention towards the body. You must be able to recognize the warning signs or symptoms of gynecologic cancer.

If you think that you have any of the following symptoms related to the gynecological cancer, immediately consult your doctor. Sometimes, these symptoms may be of other cancer, but it will be always better to consult your doctor.

Symptoms of Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer reveals itself as an abnormal cell change in the cervix. The symptom of the cervical cancer includes.

  1. Abnormal bleeding between the periods
  2. Bleeding after the sexual intercourse
  3. Vaginal discharge which has a foul smell, unusual color

Symptoms of Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer appears on the surface of the ovaries. The symptoms of the ovarian cancer are the common complaints of the woman. This is the reason why it cannot be detected at the early stage. These symptoms include.

  1. Fullness or pressure in the pelvis
  2. Abdominal bloating
  3. Changes in bowel and bladder patterns which are constant and progressive
  4. Persistent gastrointestinal complaints
  5. Frequency or urgency of urination
  6. Abnormal bleeding
  7. Constipation
  8. Fatigue
  9. Pain during intercourse 

Symptoms of Uterine or Endometrial Cancer

Uterine cancer begins on the lining of the uterus. It can grow and spread to the muscle of the uterus. Following are the symptoms of the uterine cancer.

  1. Bleeding in women, who have gone through menopause
  2. Irregular vaginal bleeding in women before menopause

Symptoms of Vulvar Cancer

Vulvar cancer appears as a lesion on the surface of the vulva or labia. Itching is the most common symptom of the vulvar cancer. Other symptom includes.

1.    A sore on the vulva

2.    Burning , pain or other discomforts

3.    Change in the color of skin

Symptoms of Vaginal Cancer

Vaginal cancer is very rare. It includes.

  1. Abnormal bleeding
  2. Usually happens in older women
