Ovarian cancer is referred as a ‘silent killer’ because of its deadly support of attack. It is one of the deadly and fast growing tumors, which trigger within a year. Ovarian cancer is very difficult to diagnose at an early stage because its symptoms includes common complaints of women. Women have common symptoms like abdominal swelling, indigestion, which are also the signs of other cancers.
It is usually detected or comes in the attention of doctor, when it is at the advanced stage. Meanwhile, the cancer gets spread to all other parts of the abdomen. It is not treatable at the advanced stage.
Detection of ovarian cancer at the early stage can make a vast difference, since it reduces the risk of death rate. The risk of ovarian cancer increases with the increase in age.
The symptoms of ovarian cancer vary from women to women. Therefore, it is essential for women to have a proper and efficient knowledge about the ovarian cancer and its symptoms.

Overview about Ovarian Cancer
Ovarian cancer is a cancer in which malignant cells are found in an ovary. There are three types of ovarian tumors.
- Epithelial cell – This cell covers the surface of the ovary. It is the reason for about 85-95 percent of ovarian cancer. Majority of these tumors are benign
- Germ cell- this is the cell which forms eggs in the ovary
- Stromal cell- this is the cell, which forms the ovary and produces female hormones.
Early Signs of Ovarian Cancer:-
Abdominal Pain Or Abdominal Bloating:- Abdominal pain is one of the early sign of the ovarian cancer. Abdominal pain is caused due to the pressure from the tumor or due to the accumulation of fluids in the abdomen that gets provoked by the presence of tumor.
Urinary Urgency:- Urinary urgency can also be considered as one of the early sign of the ovarian cancer. It is cause due to the pressing of the tumor on the bladder, which leads to an increased pressure within the abdomen, which results in urine loss.
Digestive Problems:- Many digestive problems like gas, stomach pain, indigestion, constipation, and bloating can be the early signs of ovarian cancer. However, these symptoms can be caused due to several other problems. However, one should not ignore them, as they can be the early indications of ovarian cancer.
1. Pelvic pain or back pain
2. Leg pain
3. Fatigue
4. Unusual Vaginal Bleeding
Early diagnosis of the ovarian cancer is very necessary. However, in majority of cases, symptoms of ovarian cancer are very unclear, and cannot be recognized very easily. This cancer can be screened using transvaginal sonography and blood tests.
The most common symptoms that are experienced by the ovarian cancer patient at the last stage of cancer include.
1. Frequent urination
2. Abdominal bloating
3. Adnominal , pelvic pain
4. Pain or bleeding during intercourse
5. Irregular menstruation
6. Fatigue and tiredness
7. Unexplained weight gain or loss
8. Feeling of fullness, even after a small meal
9. Indigestion, gas and nausea
10. Constipation or diarrhea
11. Abnormal post menopausal bleeding
Remember one thing always, the early the detection of the disease, the higher are the possibilities of cure and long lifespan.
