From the ancient times, Ayurveda is known for the treatment of various types of disorders in the body. In Ayurveda, cancer is known as “Rakta-Arbud", which represents malignant tumor. There are many possible Ayurvedic treatments for cancer. According to Ayurveda, one possible clarification for cancer in modern times is because of increased use of chemicals as well as other synthetic materials in our daily diets.
These chemicals stop supply of natural minerals to our bodies. This is increased with the increase of nervousness and stress in the body.
As there are various types of cancers present in body, it becomes more challenging to find the exact Ayurvedic treatment for cancer.
Ayurvedic Treatment for Cancer
There are three types of treatments that can help in curing cancer. These are as below:

- Diet
- Panchakarma
Medicine
- There is no need to use Ayurvedic medicine exclusively without allopathic medicine. They can be used in combination too. Using Ayurvedic medicines for cancer treatment along with treatment of allopathy helps to lower stress level of patients and this leads to a positive response of other treatments.
- Yoga and massage are parts of Ayurvedic treatments which are proved to be safe and beneficial.
According to Ayurveda, the most important solution for these diseases is "prevention". So Ayurveda always aims towards a healthy lifestyle, balanced physical and emotional health, and spirituality in life.
Ayurvedic medicines can treat cancer and we can have results as follows:
- Reduced tumor size
- Stopped spreading of tumor cells via the blood and lymph ducts
- Direct attack on the affected tissues
Ayurvedic medicines like Sadapuli (Lochnera rosea), Guggul (Commiphora mukul), Heerak Bhasma, Indian Podophyllum (Podophyllum hexandrum), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), are used to reduce cancerous tumor size.
Diet
- In Ayurveda, diet is very important part of cancer treatment. An Ayurvedic practitioner first develops a proper diet plan for the patients’ body to have the ability to achieve three humors i.e. Vayu, Agni, and Vat back in balance.
- According to Ayurvedic treatments, making food cold by refrigerating it, destroys the natural energy of the food. It leads to poor metabolism, which may affect someone by developing cancer.
Always take supplements to increase hydrochloric acid levels of your body that can act against cancer.
Panchakarma
Panchakarma is a combination of 5 Ayurvedic techniques that have positive impact of cancerous cells.
The five techniques of Panchakarma are:
- Emesis
- Purgation
- Enema
- Nasal application of herbal remedies
- Blood-letting
According to the basics of Ayurveda, the human body has seven different tissues which are Rasa, Meda, Asthi, Majja, Rakta, Mansa, and Shukra. Any of these tissues when infected with specific type of cancer can be successfully treated with Ayurvedic medicines. The main advantage of this treatment is it can be planned according to specific requirements of patients. Ayurvedic treatment has the ability to improve the result of survival rates in cancer.
