Waterproof makeup is great for any kind of occasion. It keeps your face smudge free all day long, whether you are attending a wedding, or any kind of party, or sweating at gym or taking a swim.

The ingredients used for making waterproof makeup are similar to traditional cosmetics. The only difference lies is the added ingredient that makes it moisture resistant. Some waterproof formulations are thicker than the nontraditional ones. But once you have the habit of using waterproof makeup, this won’t matter.

Waterproof makeup is good for those who are generally exposed to moisture or water and don’t want to look like Rocky the Raccoon. It is being found that waterproof makeup can be used on a daily basis. Swimmers, lifeguards, exercise instructors and people in such type of professions need to wear it every day.

But most women don’t want to use this makeup, since it is difficult to remove. A hearty makeup remover or an intense soap is required to remove this moisture resistant makeup. Experts suggest using waterproof makeup on special occasions instead of every day.

Instructions to Apply waterproof Makeup

  1. Experiment with different brands available in the market until you find the one that suits you the best. Look for waterproof makeup primer, foundation, concealer, and setting powder that brings a glow on your face or enhances your complexion.
  2. First remove excess oil from your skin by using a wet facial tissue. Then apply makeup primer from centre to outward of your face. Leave it for some time, so that it can set well. Then apply foundation in the same manner that is from centre to outward of your face including your eyelids. Apply small amount of concealer on the undereye region and inner corners of the eyes. Dust setting powder or waterproof translucent powder all over your face. This sets a canvas for rest of the makeup.
  3. To give an appearance of brow hairs, use a waterproof eyebrow pencil. Make short strokes to fill your brows. Use a waterproof highlighter under the arches of your brows to highlight them.
  4. Apply an eyeshadow from lash line to slightly past the crease. For a smoky effect, blend the edges of the eyeshadow upward to just under the brow bone.
  5. Use waterproof eyeliner to give a proper shape to your eyes. Apply the waterproof mascara on your eyelashes to give a stunning look.
  6. Use a product that serves as both, a lip and cheek stain. Apply the product on your lips and for added shine use a lip gloss. Pat the product on your cheeks, quickly fading any segregating line away with your fingers. This completes your waterproof makeup.

Waterproof makeup is not recommended for those people who have any history of sensitive skin, eye allergies or skin problems. Use of such products can aggravate the problem. So consult a skin specialist before applying such type of makeup.
