Often people complain of skin problems like pimples, blemishes, freckles or small red spots & reason they site is that they possess oily skin. But people with normal or dry skin may also experience the problem of skin blemishes. The problem actually lies in clogged pores which are a result of non removal of makeup. Removing makeup demands as much consideration as its application. Even the slightest trace of makeup on your skin may lead to skin problems, especially if you happen to sleep with makeup not removed properly.

Removing the makeup at night is a must to let your skin breathe & regenerate overnight so that your skin does not lose its natural charm. However, removing makeup is also an art & you need to follow some basic tips for it. There are two types of makeup- oily & non oily. Oily types are lipstick, mascara & liquid makeup and non oily ones are eye shadow, blushes & powdered makeup. Each type requires a specific method of removal.

Given below are steps for removing makeup in the best & easiest way:-

  1. First of all, secure your hair tightly at the back with a rubber/hair band so that they don’t fall on your face while you are busy removing your makeup. Clean your neck as well area behind the ears.
  2. Now concentrate on removing your eye makeup. You need to remove your eye makeup carefully since the skin around the eyes is very sensitive. You can also use a baby shampoo to wash off your face. It doesn’t leave your skin dried up & is helpful in removing waterproof mascara & eyeliner. Now, using a cotton ball dabbed in eye makeup remover, gently clean your eyes until all traces are removed.
  3. For the rest of the face use cleansing milk. Take a cotton swab & dab it with cleansing milk. Wipe the face well till the makeup comes off.
  4. For removing lip makeup, you may use cold cream. Dab the cotton swab in cold cream & rub it softly over your lips.
  5. Now, wet your face. Put a dollop of a facial cleanser on your palm; rub your hands together to generate lather. Gently rub into the face & neck. Concentrate on nose, cheekbones & around mouth. Allow it to penetrate the skin for 2-3 min. Now rinse your face properly with lukewarm water to remove all traces of make up & cleanser residue.
  6. Gently pat your face dry with a soft towel.
  7. Lastly apply a good moisturizer on your face suited to your skin type. Massage it gently in circular motion all over your face.

You can use the following as well if you’ve applied less makeup or if you are not at home & don’t have much time:-

Cleansing wipes- they are really handy & comfortable to use. You can even use them for specific areas like if you want to redo your lipstick or eye shadow or change the color of your blush.

Olive oil- It can be used to remove eye make up.

Baby oil- Baby oils are relatively best for hyper sensitive skins & can remove makeup easily. It is especially good for removing mascara without troubling your eyes much.

By using the above tips you can easily remove your makeup.
