The perfume that you wear, talks about your personality. It not only gives pleasure because of its smell but creates an aura around the wearer. Perfumes are used since several centuries. The wonderful art of making perfumes was established by ancient Mesopotamians and Egyptians. Later, this was refined by the Persians and Romans. Today, a large variety of perfumes are available in the market. Buying them is easy, but one must also know how to use perfume.
The smell of a perfume delights, inspires, and seduces a person. But while purchasing a perfume, one must remember that all scents are not good for all people. Don’t select a perfume based on its name or packaging or its contents. First try the perfume to see if it works for you.
Some scents are woody, some are floral, whereas some are blended. You must take time to explore and select the perfumes that best suits your body and provides the desired effects. Select a perfume that is subtle and not overpowering.
It has been found that some people are allergic to perfumes. Severe allergic attacks like nausea, headache, vomiting and sometimes itching may also occur on getting contact with a perfume. You should remember that other people smell the fragrance of the perfume much stronger than you, as you get accustomed to the odor. So don’t use too much of perfume.
Tips on How to Use Perfume?
- Spray the perfume in the air and take a walk through it, to have a total body application. This is the best way to use a perfume if you need a light delighting fragrance.
- Spray the perfume on a cotton ball and dab it on your neckline, wrists, behind the knees and behind the ears for a long lasting experience.
- Some prefer to spray perfume over their hair. This keeps the original fragrance of the perfume intact and doesn’t allow it to mix with the body’s perspiration and musk.
Perfumes are generally applied on so called “warm spots”. These spots work as small fragrance pumps by giving away the warmth of the body outside. These warm spots include wrists, inner parts of knees and elbows, neck area and behind the ears.
Perfumes are used to hide our natural body scents. It is being advised not to spray perfume directly on to the skin as it penetrates deep into the skin and blocks the pores of the body. Applying perfume on clothes is also not a good idea as many a times it leaves a stain or a mark on the cloths.
It has also been found that perfumes stay longer on oily skin rather than dry skin. So use of Vaseline or oily cream is recommended before applying perfume. The intensity of fragrance increases when it is warm. So it is advised to use a perfume of lighter fragrance or less in quantity during summers.
With these tips on how to use perfume, you can smell attractive without causing any harm to yourself.
