The best thing you can do for your skin is to take proper care of it & treat it as if it’s the most precious thing in the world. You can do all this by taking a good night’s sleep & giving yourself regular face massage. Using face masks can also help a lot by exfoliating & cleansing the skin. Apart from all these tips, here we’ll share our secrets to attain dewy, flawless complexion.
To prepare a smooth canvas for your make up, start off with a clean skin. Wash your face thoroughly with face wash & water. Now, use a gentle cleanser to clean the pores of your skin. Then use a toner to freshen up the skin. Next step is to use a moisturizer containing SPF 15 or more. Foundation is now applied to prepare a good base for makeup. This includes several steps which are:
Choosing foundation: For the natural look your foundation must match your skin tone & type. Choose a perfect shade that almost settles like a second skin. Ensure that you are in broad daylight when trying out foundation colors. Select a couple of shades to try. Stroke a little color onto your jaw line to ensure the shade that blends with your face as well as with your neck. The best shade is the one which disappears into your skin.
Application of foundation: There are two variants of foundation- powdered form & liquid or cream foundation. Different modes of application are adapted for both.
Liquid or cream foundation: Foundation brush, sponge or even fingers can be used for applying liquid foundation. Put an appropriate amount of foundation on five strategic spots of your face- both cheeks, forehead, nose & chin, then quickly & evenly smear over the face. Don’t forget to apply on eyelids, lips & neck. Do not apply one thick layer instead work in thin lines. To attain a smooth finished look, work really fast since cream foundation dries quickly. If you want to use a concealer, do so when the foundation is half dry. Now, put a small amount of face powder or powder foundation on a puff & gently run it across the entire face to veil the shine of foundation.
Powder foundation: If powder foundation is used, a make up primer or base is used first to get the desired results. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the base on your palm, then place one dot each on five strategic points. Smear evenly & gently. Wait for few minutes until the primer dries. If you want to use a concealer, use it after applying the base. Now with the help of the sponge, apply a thin layer of powder foundation on wider areas such as cheeks & forehead. You can gradually build up by adding layers of foundation until the desired result is achieved. Using the edge of the sponge, apply on nose, around the eyes & around the mouth. Use thin layers of foundation on these areas to avoid creasing.
Following tips may prove handy while applying foundation:
Foundation needs to be blended properly under the jaw line, neck area, into the hairline, on the ear lobes, corners of the nose and mouth & over and under the eyes, so that they there is no visible difference. To retouch a particular area, reapply the foundation there & blend it with the rest of the face. Then to set it properly, apply translucent powder.
For dry skin, use a moisturizer before applying the foundation & thereafter apply liquid foundation to get that sheen. For oily skin, use an oil free moisturizer & powder foundation.
Using these foundation make up tips, you can attain a velvety, natural look.
