There are many fish oil benefits for skin. It also has health benefits which include its ability to help in treatment of high cholesterol, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, eye disorders, macular degeneration, heart diseases, anxiety, cancer, diabetes, inflammation, AHDH, low immunity, arthritis, IBD, AIDS, and ulcers. 

 

It also takes part in treatment of weight loss, pregnancy, fertility along with skin care.

·         Most of the fish oil benefits are attributed to the presence of Omega 3 which is very essential fatty acids. It is present in the form of Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) as well as Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Along with this, other important fatty acids include Alpha-linolenic acid i.e. ALA and Gamma-linolenic acid i.e. GLA.

·         The various sources of fish oil are lake trout, mackerel, rainbow trout, sea bass, sardines, halibut, herring, swordfish, blue fin tuna, oysters, albacore tuna, yellow fin tuna, turbot, pilchards, anchovies and salmon.

·         Fish oil containing Omega 3 helps to prevent wrinkles. It is also used in delaying the ageing process of the skin.

·         Scientists recently came to the conclusion that fish oil containing EPA has the ability to stop the damage to the skin due to overexposure to sun.

·         EPA helps to slow down the creation of androgens that control the production of sebum of hair follicle. Excess sebum production can result into acne and related skin problems.

·         EPA helps to reduce production of Arachidonic acid, which is responsible for pro-inflammatory conditions that can lead to inflammatory skin conditions, for e.g. psoriasis. 

·         EPA can reduce the symptoms of skin disorders like dry and flaky skin, psoriasis, eczema and acne. So it is very important to choose a fish oil that contains high level of EPA.

·         Fish oil improves the condition of poor and dry skin. Fish oil makes the skin shinny and glowing.

·         Fish oils also reduce skin disorders like skin lesions, itching, redness of skin, and rashes.

·         Regular intake of fish oil capsules can help in reducing loss of humidity from the skin. It is also claimed that fish oil helps in preventing sunburns.

·         Dermatologists always prefer to prescribe fish oil containing capsules to reduce skin related disorders.
